"Get off!" I screamed while pushing Mikey off of me.

He was laying on his backside, spread out, and putting all his weight down on me. I laid on my stomach on the couch with my arm hanging off.

"So come on!" he whined.

"Whhyyy?" I dragged out while whining as well.

"Because Adi, all you do is stay home these days, lets go do something. I'm so bored! I'll pay!" He pushed his weight down more and I groaned.

"FINE!" He jumped up off of me and clapped his hands like a 5-year old. I sat up and stretched out my back.

"Where should we go?"

"Movies? Mall? Dave & Busters?" he shrugged.

"I'm with it." I shrugged in return. He gestured for me to follow him out the house.

I was already dressed, not because I had plans, but because I don't like staying in my pajamas all day, makes me feel depressed.

:::o:::X:::o:::

We had fun at the mall. We watched John Wick 2, ate some Johnny Rockets, and played games at D&B for about 2 hours. By the time we pulled up into our drive way, it was 4 p.m.

He slowly drove into the drive way as we looked at each other confused. There was another car behind my dads, a car we've never seen before. It was a beat down, sliver, old Honda with busted, rusty rims. He parked next to my fathers car and we eased our way to our front door.

The door was unlocked and Mikey looked behind him at me as we made our way to the kitchen. I looked at the stair well as I saw an old purse sitting on the corner of the bottom step.

Mikey suddenly stopped and I walked right into his back. I fell back and gave him a look while I walked around him to see my father standing there with a woman. I stopped and looked at the lady, then at my father with a confused look.

The woman was a bit shorter than me, tired crystal blue eyes, light brown hair pulled up in a messy bun, she was fairly skinny and pale, had a long sleeve sweatshirt on and baggy jeans with old shoes.

She straightened out her clothes nervously and tried to pull her loose hairs behind her ears. She had a faint, sweet smile on and an anxious look in her eyes.

My father looked stressed, he wasn't his usual happy self.

"Adriana, Michael," He gestured towards the woman. "This- uh. This is Ella...She's gonna be living with us for a bit..."

"Mom..." My brother murmured and ran to her with open arms. I froze. This is our mother? She's alive? Where has she been? Why is she suddenly back? Why didn't she try to get in contact with us?

She held Mikey tightly and he returned the tight hug. She pulled back and cleared his hair from his face and smiled into his eyes. They were talking but I couldn't really hear them. Everything seemed to sound muffled.

My breathing started to quicken as she cautiously walked over to me. My dad had an annoyed look on his face. Mikey looked so excited and happy.

She wrapped her arms around me and I stood there, unlike my brother, I didn't return the hug. She hugged me for what felt like forever. She pulled back and stared into my eyes now.

"You both look so big and beautiful and so grown..." she said softly while tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

My jaw tightened and my fist balled up. Who the hell did she think she was? Just showing up out of nowhere?
