Candace Clover was in no way a nice woman. She was vain, cruel, she turned away from the cries of other less fortunate if it benefited her end game.
She liked to play games with others emotions to a sadist-like extent. She cared for one thing in life and one thing only, money. She wore the best clothes on her back. Her blouse alone could make another's yearly income.
She always straightened her naturally curly hair and placed it in a tight low bun, never a hair out if place, never a bead of sweat to showcase. She had perfectly light skin to which she bleached yearly to maintain.
She was born in South Africa but you could never tell that by merely looking at the woman. She had artificial green eyes and bleached teeth. She had liposuction on her stomach and breast implants. She was a vain and an
obtuse woman. Dangerously prejudice and dishonest. She was what she believed to be 'perfect'. In her eyes she was too good for others, she was too beautiful. But like every human, the surgery couldn't hide the fact that she would one day be old. On her thirty first birthday she gave birth to a stunning baby girl name Carter Clover. She was the most precious baby her father had ever laid eyes on.
Her father was no better than his wife only in that he loved Carter Clover with all of his heart. She was his gift. He loved Carter more than his wife which wasn't saying much seeing as only two years into Carter's life did Calvin Clover realize that his wife was a gold digger.
Him being a stereotypical male stayed with Candace Clover for status and arm candy although she knew she was being used, Candace didn't care. She got compensation and status.
Candace and Calvin Clover we're the richest family in Savannah Georgia. They own almost ever building and operation that was known in Savannah.
Calvin inherited the company from his father Clyde Clover, who inherited it from his father Cornelius Clover, who inherited from his father, who inherited from his father Cunta Clover, who was a slave to the Cliver family and worked on the Cliver plantation. Cliver had an affair with the lady of the house and the wife (Martha Maydrien go figure) killed her husband to be with Cunta.
Martha and Cunta ran the plantation together until Cunta poisoned Martha in her sleep inheriting the slave house and that's how he made his fortune. He took he family name Cliver but missed spelled it creating the Clover legacy that Calvin was so proud of today.
Carter was a sight to behold. She had the most delicate russet skin. Her eyes were the deepest brown orbs with specks of green in them. Her lips with plump and pink and her smile could make a man, or woman, fall to their knees.
Her had curly kinky hair that her mom had tried to perm at least three times in her life. Each time Carter would shave her head in retaliation.
Candace didn't like that, they fought and fought until Calvin finally stepped and forbad Candace from laying a finger on little Carter's beautiful hair.
Carter had soft pink lips that she never put lipstick on until she sixteen and she finally found out about darker shades of lipstick like dark purple and brown.
She loved dresses, short ones , long ones, as long as it fit her mood she'd wear a dress anytime of the day, but she'd always be wearing sneakers, Converses to be exact to which her mother couldn't stand, her father found it endearing.
She always did her nails at home, she was very good at it, but her gift from God was her ability to do hair.
Kinky hair, straight hair, she could do any style without a hitch. She would sneak over to the Savannah homeless shelter and do all their hairs for free.
It brought her so much joy to see those beautiful smiles from the little girls and moms, and even though some of them were shady, she did love the second of surprise and happiness from the men.
Carter was the daughter of a millionaire in Savannah, Georgia. When she was eighteen she moved into a nice small house by a local river.
She loved not being under her mom's critical nose every two seconds.
"Do this Carter!"
"Don't wear that Carter!"
"Don't touch that Carter!"
It was only the sweet sound of the rivers motion moving through the banks that caught her ear these days.
Carter Clover worked part-time at a hair salon which she loved. It was like art, each day was a new canvas and the inspiration never stopped rolling it.
Carter lover her life, aside from one small detail.
Dennis Chad Hiddleston.
Dennis was everything that her mother was. He was mean, controlling, corrupt, he was almost as rich as her father, he was Dennis's age and Carter's were thirty seven and twenty four respectively. He was a Ken doll, he had never lifted a finger in his life seeing as he got all his money from him low life father who was only wealthy from illegal businesses.
Dennis was a sexist, he cared for himself and himself only. He was a brat, the man couldn't care for a woman except if her breast felt nice.
All of these things, Carter couldn't stand and tried to avoid this man with all of her might.
The only problem was, Dennis and Carter were to be married in one month , eleven days, and two hours, but she was in love with another man, and there was nothing that Carter Clover could do to stop it.
