Austins P.O.V.

School was over. I can't believe Mariah wasn't here. I hope she's okay. I'll go surprise her. I walked to her door and knocked. Her mom Miranda got it. "Hey Austin!" "Hey. is Mariah here?" "yes she's upstairs in her room." "okay thanks." she let me in and I started walking upstairs. I went to knock on her door when I heard something happening in Blake's room. I walked over to the door and over heard everything. he was beating her. "Ahh Blake stop please!" "Shut the hell up." "No no no please you can't do this." I was done I ran into his room and pushed him away from her. "Get off of her." I saw the knife on the ground. I was fighting her brother just to protect her. never thought I would do this. he reached in his pocket and grabbed a pocket knife.

Mariah P.O.V.

I was getting beat by Blake when Austin came in and started to help me by pushing him off me and hit him. I got scared and ran downstairs. I ran to my mom. "MOM HELP WE NEED HELP!" "Oh my gosh Mariah what happened?" "GO UPSTAIRS BLAKE AUSTIN JUST GO HELP AUSTIN!" I said crying. she ran upstairs and saw they were fighting. I walked back upstairs and got Austin. My mom had Blake. "Mariah take Austin to the bathroom." I walked to the bathroom with him and had him sit down. I was hurt bad but I cared about Austin more. "Mariah I'm okay you need to sit down." "No you need to. Look he cut your arm. I'm so sorry." "Its okay at least you didn't get stabbed." I smiled a little and hugged him. "thank you." "your welcome." I let go and got the first-aid-kit. I started to get the cleaning stuff for cuts and I got a big bandaid. "ouch. that stings." "Baby!" "Haha. you really shouldn't be trying to help me. I'm okay." "No. its okay." "look your bleeding on your face, arm, black eye trying to form. you need to be took care of." I smiled and looked down at the kit. we didn't have a lot of stuff so I told him to go to my room cause I have another kit. I looked in a cabnit that's in my closet and got the extra kit out. I walked over to my bed and started to open the kit. Austin grabbed the cleaning stuff and started to clean the cut on my face. He's so sweet. "You know I have a mirror I could've done it myself." "I know but I wanted to help you cause you helped me." I started to feel the stinging but soon all my blood was gone off my face and arm and leg. we started talking. it got awkward for about 2 minutes then Austin started talking again. "Your eyes are really pretty" I blushed. "Thanks." "Your welcome." My hair fell in front of my face and he pulled it back. he looked in my eyes and we started to lean in. I can't believe I'm about to kiss Austin. Our lips touched and it felt like it was only us in the world. my bruises were gone, I was beautiful, and there was butterflies in my stomach. we let go. "I im sorry." he got up and started to walk out. I got up and ran after him. "Austin wait." he kept going but I didn't want him too. finally he was out the door.

Austins P.O.V.

I just kissed Mariah! it was amazing. but I probably just ruined everything with her. what if she doesn't like me? what if she doesn't want to talk to me again? should I have left? what was she trying to tell me? these and more questions ran through my head. I walked inside and sat my stuff down. I walked upstairs and slammed the door but not to hard. I layed down on my bed and staired at the ceiling.

Harleys P.O.V.

I heard Austin come in and he wasn't like himself. I walked to his room and saw him laying down. "Austin what's wrong?" "What? oh nothing." "Austin? tell me." "okay. After school I went to see Mariah. Her brother beat her worse than ever. he almost stabbed her." "WHAT! Is she okay?" "Yes she's fine cause of me. I started fighting him and I got cut on the arm and she cleaned me up. then we went to her room for more clean stuff." "Mmhm." "And we talked and cleaned her up and I I...." "you what?" "I kissed her." "OMG!! Then what happened?" "I left." "Austin!! Why'd you leave?" "Cause she...I don't know. Does she even like me?" "Austin she really likes you!" "Wow. if I knew that I wouldn't have left." "Hey we still on that date for the movies right?" His face lite up! "Yeah I'll call Alex to check." "I'll call Mariah!" "Wait." "What?" "Nothing!" I left and I called Mariah. "Hey girl! So I have a question." "Okay." "Do you still want to go to the movies tomorrow?" "Um yeah I'll go." "Okay. so you and Austin kissed?" "Omg yes!! it felt like we were the only ones in the world, butterflies, and everything!" "Awwww!!" "Except he left." "He told me why." "Why?"
