(Lucian at the top)
Where we left off....
Tears began to run down her cheeks, and before Thabian could utter another word, she ran the opposite direction towards her room.
It was like his heart was breaking just as much as he knew hers was, and all he wanted to do was run to her and beg for forgiveness, but he chose to leave it alone for now. There wasn't much he could do.
The damage was already done.
He took a minute to get his nerves in check before going into Lucian's study. He was sitting at his desk on the phone with who Thabian assumed to be Enrique. "Listen to me, Casedy almost killed him because he physically hurt her and my son stepped up to protect his sister! This is not her fault.."
"No! You listen to me" Enrique yelled through the phone, "I told you years ago to kill that thing! How could you raise it as if it were your own. Next time it wont be my son, it may very well be one of yours!" Lucian's hands clenched the phone.
"You bastard, you don't speak about my daughter like that! She is my family, and I will NOT allow you to insult or disrespect her. Keep your fucking mutt away from her, or I'll break his scrawny neck myself!"
He slammed the phone on his desk, breaking it with his strength. It was clear that his wolf wanted blood, and he was close to getting it. Thabian cleared his throat, causing Lucian to look up at him. His eyes softened when he saw the young man. "How much did you hear?"
Thabian gave a slight smirk. "Enough."

Casedy sat on her bed, crying silently into her pillow while Daughter played in the background. A knock at the door caught her attention. She wiped her tears and tried to clean up as much as possible. "H-hold on! I'm coming..!" Daniel's friendly face awaited her when she opened the door, and with him being her best friend, he knew something was up. He entered the room and locked the door behind him.
"Details, now. Why were you crying? Don't say you weren't because you only listen to Daughter when your upset." The pair sat down on her bed, pulling the plush blankets around them.
"Well...I found my soul mate but...he rejected me." Daniel gasped. "Wait, what?! Why?! Who is it?!"
His questions were rapid fire. Casedy put her hands over his mouth. "Hush! I don't want the whole house knowing! And I'm guessing it's because of who I am. My father is the Alpha, after all."
Daniel racked his mind for candidates. "Cass, I don't understand. Who would be too afraid of your father to reject you? It doesn't make sense..." She looked away as more tears slid down her face. "It makes sense when it's his Beta..."
Silence filled the room. Daniels mouth hung wide open.
"HOLY SHIT CASS!!"
She jumped on him, covering his face with a pillow. "Hush, you idiot!" He began laughing frantically, tackling his best friend so that she was under him. "Dude, you cant be serious. Are you sureeeee you know its him? I mean, it could be a mistake." Casedy shook her head. "No, Danny. It's him...I felt the connection and he did too. I saw it in his eyes, but he rejected me...it hurts so bad."
Daniel's mood changed from playful to serious. This was no laughing matter. Though he wasn't a wolf or a vampire, he knew that the pain they felt when rejected was the worst feeling in the world. He laid beside his best friend, bringing her into his arms and letting her cry, wiping away every tear that fell. He truly cared for her and she needed him, so he would be there for her.
Time seemed to pass slowly as they laid there, and eventually Casedy fell asleep snuggled up next to Daniel as he played in her hair. It was one of the only things that could put her to sleep in seconds. He looked down at her sleeping form and pulled more blankets up around her before gently sliding out of bed and towards the door. Looking back at her one last time, he quietly slid out of the room and downstairs to find Amelie.

Thabian paced at the foot of the stairs, contemplating on whether or not he should go talk to Casedy. His wolf was begging him to go and comfort his mate, while his mind was screaming "HELL NO! BAD IDEA!" Rapid footsteps broke his concentration and he look up to see Daniel. The boy seemed to be in a hurry...but for what? When their eyes met, Thabian saw a bit of surprise, then realization.
He knew...
He put on the best fake smile he could muster and began to approach the young warlock. "Gandolf, it's good to see you. What are you doing here?" Daniel laughed nervously. "Haha! It's funny you should ask, Thabian...Considering you knew I was coming for dinner." The Beta grinned and gripped Daniels shoulder. "Lets cut the crap, shall we? What did she tell you?" Danny whenced at his grip. "N-nothing, dude...we were just doing homework!"
The one thing Thabian hated more than anything was a liar. "Daniel, I'm going to ask you one more time, and your going to tell me the truth. WHAT. DID. SHE. TELL. YOU?" His eyes turned hazel, allowing part of his wolf to show.
"Fine! She told me about the mate thing!" He smacked Thabians hand off of his shoulder. "And just so you know, your a real dick for rejecting her like that. I just spent an hour trying to get her to stop crying...she's hurting because of you and your cowardice." Thabian growled at his choice of words, but before anything could escalate, the sound of soft footsteps coming down the stairs stopped them.
"Daniel? Thabian? Whats going on here?" Amelie asked. Her long golden locks were tied up on her head and she was wearing a house dress. "Nothing, Luna. We were just having a friendly conversation. Right Danny?" The warlock glared at him, but kept a smirk on his lips. "Yeah...friendly." Amelie giggled and pushed past the two of them. "Well come on to the dining room, dinner is ready and I have a very important announcement to make. Oh! And have any of you seen Logan? That boy is always somewhere..."
"No, luna...as a matter of fact, I haven't seen him. He might be in his room?" Thabian said. "Probably, would you be a dear and go check for me?" She asked, gently giving his large hand a squeeze. He nodded and went to find the youngest child of the LeJour family.
Amelie watched as he left, then turned her attention towards Daniel. "You shouldn't taunt him, you know...he's having a hard time processing that his mate is his Alpha's most prized possession. Give it time, and he will come around." She patted his cheek before heading off into the kitchen.
Daniel stood there, shocked that she knew...but then again, she was the Luna and a mother. Of course she knew.
