On Monday everyone at school is talking about Jason and I. I don't like it. I'm not used to having this much attention. Jason and his squad walk up to me. "Hey." I say while I fidget with my backpack straps. "Hey." he says back, looking at me intently. "So what's up with the entourage behind you?" I point to the six guys surrounding us. "We're just off to football practice. It's first period." his teammates pat him on the shoulder and then take off without him. "So about last night..." he drifts off. "Last night was just a first date. I don't even know if there's going to be a second. I don't even think that someone like me should date someone like you." I shut my locker and put the lock back on."What do you mean, someone like me? I'm just a normal guy. I do the same things any normal guy would do. I don't think we're different." he looks down at me with those deep blue eyes. I laugh, "The thought of us being together is the craziest thing ever.". "I like crazy. I like different. Just like I said last night, that's why I'm interested in getting to know you. I don't know what you're going to do next, and that excites me. So yes, there will be another date. No ifs, ands, or butts." he walks away before I can even get a word in. Okay Smith, I'll give you a chance.

After third period is over, it's time to go to SAT class. People are still looking at me like I'm a penguin in a zoo. I try to ignore it, but every time I look up, someone's looking at me. It's kind of creepy but I'm starting to like the attention. More people say hi to me in the hallways, people that I don't know stop and talk to me like I've known them for forever. Zoe's already kind of popular because she's in cheerleading, so there's no need to worry about me leaving her behind if this whole "popular" thing happens to me.
I walk into SAT class and don't see Jason anywhere. That could be because I'm always early to my classes. There's barely anyone in here anyways. I take my seat and get out everything I need for the class. All of a sudden, people start flooding in and there he is. He takes his seat and smiles at me. "Hey, Martin." I look up at him and notice for the first time that he has a dimple on his right cheek. "Hi." I look down and immediately blush.
After class I rush to my car and turn on the engine. It makes this weird sound and then shuts off. I try it again, but I have the same result. Great, my car broke down. I stand outside my car and call my insurance company. Turns out, the fastest they can make it here is in an hour. I text my mom and tell her that she needs to pick up Belle from school. Suddenly, I see Jason's Jeep approach me. "Do you need a ride?" he says as he comes out of his car. "No I'm just waiting for a tow truck. Thanks though." I pat his arm and then he takes my hand and holds it. "I'll just wait with you. I don't want you to be alone." I immediately let go of his hand and sit down on the curb. He smiles and sits next to me.
It's so cold outside, I can't stop shaking. "Here, take my jacket." he takes off his varsity jacket and wraps it around me. His cologne smells so good I want to live in it. "So, about last night. When we were about to kiss..." he waits for me to finish his sentence for him. "What do you mean? I don't remember anything about a kiss." my nose twitches a little. I do that when I lie. "Come on. You remember. I know you do. I see it in your eyes." he takes my hand again and this time I don't let go. When he holds my hand it makes my heart flutter and my hands tingle.
"Okay well if there was an almost kiss, it doesn't mean anything because it wasn't even a kiss at all." I glance at his lips. They're really soft looking. I wonder what they feel like. Stop. I hope he didn't catch me staring at his lips. Then our lips find their way close to each other again. Don't do this Martin. You're stronger than this. It's like they're magnets. Wanting so badly to just touch. Oh no. Then it happens. We kiss and I feel butterflies flying in my stomach. He kisses me again and then one things leads to another and we're having a full on make out session.
I pull away from him and then kiss his lips one more time. "Well that was-" he cuts me off. "Awesome." he smiles and then pulls me into him. We just sit there and talk about anything that comes to mind. I lean into his chest and then he takes my hand and plays with it. Then suddenly, the tow truck appears. We get up and I put my arms in the sleeves of Jason's jacket so it doesn't fall off. Turns out, all I needed was a kickstart to my car. The tow truck man leaves and it's just me and Jason. "Thanks for staying out here with me." I give him a hug, and I've never felt so comfortable in someones arms than I do Jason's. "I would've stayed here with you even if it were pouring rain outside." he lets go of the hug and then opens the door to my car. I start to take his jacket off to give it back to him but then he stops me. "No, keep it. You look good in it, Martin." he gives me a really sexy smirk and then kisses me on the cheek. "I'll see you tomorrow before first period." he shuts the door and then goes back to his Jeep.
Well that just happened.
