After we go on more dates, things are getting pretty serious with Jason and I. I'm really starting to see the side of Jason that no one else sees. He's a gentleman, he's gentle with his words, and he's really down to earth. I really want whatever we are to last a long time. I hope we can.
I got invited to Lacey's party. She's the most popular girl at our school, but that's partially because she throws the best parties. I don't think I'll go though. It's too many people, and I don't do too well in big crowds. I asked Jason if he was going, but he wasn't sure.
It's a Saturday and I have absolutely nothing to do. When I'm not doing anything, I usually bake sweets. I'm not doing anything a lot, so there's always something sweet around the house. I go down to the kitchen and start to bake my favorite, Frozen Snickerdoodle Crunch Cake.
When I get done, I set them in the freezer for 8 hours. I go to the living room and turn on the TV. Right as I decide on a channel, the door bell rings. I yell for Annabelle to answer it. She comes down the stairs and then I hear her gasp. "What is it?" I get up from the couch to make sure she's okay. "Jason's here." she opens the door and then invites him in. Why is he here? I don't even look presentable right now. I'm just in sweats and a random grey shirt I found in my closet. I take the back stairs that are right next to the kitchen so he doesn't see me, and rush to my room to change in something more suitable.
When I get down stairs I see Jason sitting down on the couch kind of awkwardly. "Hey, Jason. Why'd you stop by?" I say as he gets up and hugs me. He smells so nice, just like he always does. "Get ready, we're going to the party." my eyes widen. I really don't want to go. "Jason, you know that's not my type of setting. I don't feel comfortable." he takes my hand and then kisses it. "I'll keep you safe, don't worry. You'll be by my side the whole time." my heart flutters when he says this. I'm suddenly really excited to go to this party. "Okay fine, but you're going to have to wait a little while before we go. I still have to get ready and everything," I tell him as I hand him the remote, "This will keep you company." he takes it and then sits down. "Don't take too long, Martin." I promise him that it won't take longer than 30 minutes, and then I rush up the stairs.
I'm finished getting ready, so I head down stairs. Jason immediately stands up, "You look really beautiful, Savannah." Jason says as he looks me up and down. I roll my eyes and smile, "It's nothing fancy. Just jeans and a nice shirt.". He moves a strand of my hair out of my face, and then kisses me. My heart warms at this. I kiss him back and then pull away before things escalate. I don't know if I'll be able to control my self if we don't stop. . "Time to go. We don't want to miss the party completely." I take his hand and then he interlaces our fingers together. My fingers tingle, but I ignore it. I've never been happier with him.
We arrive to the party, and suddenly I'm not feeling so good. There are a lot of people here. "Don't worry, Savannah. I'll be right there with you. Just follow me, and make sure to hold on to my hand tight when we're moving through crowds." I nod and then we both step out of the car. We get to the door and then I take a deep breath. He takes my hand, and then we walk into the house.
The music is really loud, and there's drunk girls hanging over drunk guys. Jason pulls me over to the kitchen so we can find something to drink. "Savan Marin?" I turn around, trying not to cringe at the way someone just said my name, and see Lacey stumbling over to me, drink in hand. Jason stops and doesn't let go of my hand, which I don't have a problem with. "The two love birs mae it!" she slurs as she puts her arm around my shoulders. "You know, I dated that dude." she whispers in my ear. I look over at Jason, his eyes are wide. "But I don't like him anymore so it's okay. He's all yours, Savannah. Don't worry." I assure to her that I'm not worried about it at all, but then Jason pulls me away and we're off to the kitchen again.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know she would do that." he says as we get our drinks. "It's okay. I knew you guys dated anyways." I take a drink. They dated for about 3 months. His longest relationship. "Let's just forget about it." I take his hand and then gulp down the rest of the alcohol. "Take it easy Savannah. I don't want to bring you home drunk." he says as he hands me a bottle of water. I turn it away and then get another cup of whatever I was drinking before. I let go of his hand, push through the crowd, and then find a place that I can be alone.
I just need some time to think. I like being alone some times because that's when I feel at peace. I find a room that's empty, and I text Jason to tell him that I'm okay. I take a seat on the bed and take another sip of the drink. I should've taken that water bottle from Jason. This is disgusting. I put the cup down and then lay back on the bed.
When I'm done calming down, I decide it's time to head back out to the party. I try to find Jason, but I can't find him anywhere in the house. I check the backyard, and then I see someone that looks like him making out with someone that looks like Lacey. Wait a second. That is Jason and Lacey making out. What the hell?! Jason looks over to me and then pushes Lacey off of him.
