Sofies POV
I stood just outside of the shower, fully dressed, staring at myself in the mirror. Why you ask? I was thinking about the promise I broke 3 years ago, the night my mom left, the night I became a criminal.
I was 14 and it was around 1:00. My parents were having there usual fight, and I was blasting the music in my headphones but no matter how high I put the volume, it couldn't drown out there yelling.
Later that night I was in the front yard, swinging from our apple tree like I always did in the nights my parents had fights. It was late, about 2 am and both of them where asleep. I heard a creak inside of the house and looked to see my mom standing just outside the door. I quickly jumped out of the tree and ran to her. She gave me a giant hug and told me that she was leaving and that she was sorry and that she loved me. The one thing I remembered from that night was the 5 words she uttered, that I had made my motto: I will always find you.
My mom was a cop, and we had never really gotten along when it came to criminal rights and justice. I thought that people should do what they want, and be arrested if it affects anyone they care about. She thought everyone who did anything wrong... even stole a pencil, that they should be punished.
That night I decided to go on strike against my mom and send her a message that I would do whatever I want and would never love or listen to anyone again.
That all changed when I met Chris. Even as just a friend I fell for him instantly. No matter how much I tried I couldn't stop loving him. I had always told myself that I didn't need a shoulder to cry on, but when I told Chris that I was wanted, I had to literally cry on his shoulder.
I have never regretted meeting him and I never would. Within the span of 2 years he turned me from a monster to an actual human being with a soul, only with him of course. I continued shutting everyone out except for Rosie and Chris, I've known Rosie since birth and she's like my sister.
I looked up at myself in the mirror and said out loud, "woaw Sof, that was deeeep." Then went to go find Chris.
