"Wait. We're going where?" Jack asked as he turned to Mark. Mark said nothing and glanced back at Jack with a grin.
"Don't tell me it isn't obvious," Mark teased.
"It really isn't." Jack stated, yawning loudly. It wasn't early in the morning, in fact, it was early afternoon, but Jack still found it tiring to just leave the house.
"Where else would I be going on a weekday?" Mark prompted, brushing some crumbs he found off of his seat.
"Well, work, but you wouldn't be going with me- oh wait." Jack realized.
Mark turned back to face the window, knowing that Jack had finally understood that work was exactly where they were going. Mark had wanted to take Jack there for a while now, mostly because he had learned that his friend had a deep love for video games. Since that was Mark's profession, what better way to thank his friend for all he had done than let him test run some games?
"Wait wait wait...hold on. Why am I going though?" Jack questioned.
"Just relax and trust me, okay?" Mark replied, turning back to Jack to confirm he was on board with that. Jack turned his head, nodded, and grabbed Mark's hand.
"Okay." He said.
Originally, touching like holding hands had been very strange for the both of them, being that they had barely known each other. This had made it weird for Jack to have to lift Mark into his bed at first and to help with almost everything he did. After weeks of spending time with each other though, being near the other had become as natural as breathing. They both found themselves grabbing onto or being close to the other with little reason.
At the front of the taxi, the driver suddenly coughed and gave them a glance. Mark turned to look out the window because of this and realized they were there. Sighing and nudging Jack to convey the message, Jack hopped out of the car, unfolded Mark's wheelchair, and helped him out of the vehicle. After paying the driver, Jack looked up at the building in front of them and felt his eyes widen.
"Geez Mark, even your office building is giant," Jack said.
"I guess it is, but the really interesting part is inside." Mark alluded.
"Are we going in?"
"I don't see us going much anywhere else."
As Mark spoke, Jack just rolled his eyes and wheeled into the building. Upon entering, Jack was enthralled by all the attention Mark was getting.
"Good morning Mr.Iplier."
"Excuse me, Mr.Iplier, I have some ideas for you to take a look at..."
"Mr. Iplier? If you have time later could you come down to my office?"
"Ah, it's nice to see you back again Mr.Iplier."
Though it was fun to watch people, he focused mostly on Mark for two reasons. One, it was interesting to him to see Mark's professional side. It was very dominating but kind, and Jack liked it. Two, it was a bit unnerving to deal with some of the weird looks he got from people, most likely questioning what he was doing with 'Mr.Iplier.'
