Alex Knight
As I come to the door to Dr. Soulveren's office I start to feel nervous that I might not get the job and be kick out on the spot, oh well here goes nothing. I knocked my fist on the door twice before I hear a come in. I open the door that was pretty heavy for a door and then walked through closing the door behind me. When I turn around I'm met with a lady in her 50s siting at her desk reading through I gray folder, I wonder who's folder that it?
"Please sit down, Mr. Knight" she said holding her hand out to the chair in front of her desk "I have been expecting you"
She opens a draw in her desk and takes a file out, which has my name on it.
"I just have to ask you a few questions about you before you start, is that alright with you? She questions.
"Yes, that is perfectly fine" I answer back nodding my head.
"Your full name is Alexander Aaron Knight, is that correct?" she asks.
And the questioning has began
"Yes, that's correct" I answer back
"Your at 21 years of age, is that correct?"
"Yes"
"Do you have any medical conditions?
"No, I do not"
"Are your eyes naturally blue? You don't wear contacts?"
"Yes, they are and no I don't wear contacts"
"Is your hair naturally dark brown?"
"Yes"
What is with these questions, oh well.
"Why do you want this job?
"I want to help people get better, I am very interested in psychology and how the mind works"
"Well, Mr. Knight you have got the job" She says standing up to shake my hand "You can start today if you would like"
"Thank you so much, I wont let you down" I say back to her smiling.
"But before you start I have some rules that you will need to follow" she looks at me with a serious face.
I nod my head.
"Rule one, do as I say and follow any order you are given. Rule two, do not bring any sharp or objects that can be consider dangerous to work, if it's a pen or something always keep it on you, the patients get ideas sometimes. Rule three, always lock your office door when you leave it. Rule four, don't create relationships with any of the patients. And the last rule, do not and I repeat DO NOT go into the far side of the asylum" I nodded my head understanding what she meant.
But the last rule started to make me think, what is in the far side of the asylum? Why can't I go into it? There are so many questions running through my head.
"Here are some patients files to get you started" Dr. Soulveren said being me back to the real world and handed me the files.
"Oh and your office is down the end of the hall"
"Thank you" I say walking towards the door of her office but before I can open the door and walk out Dr. Soulveren says "Alex?"
"Yes, Dr. Soulveren?" I answer back a bit confused.
"Always remember that last rule, do not forget it" she says seriously "do I make myself clear?"
"Yes ma'am". I say opening the door and walking out.
