Chapter Twenty

<Normani POV>

The sun shining through the curtains of the small dorm window woke Normani up from the best sleep she had ever had. She immediately smiled thinking of everything that had happened the previous night, she almost had to remind herself it wasn't just a vivid dream, this was real, Lauren really did love her. Speaking of the green-eyed girl Normani rolled over to see if she was still sleeping but found the girl's bed was empty. When she looked at the clock and saw that it was noon she figured her roommate had just gone out to get some food or something. Normani rested her head back down on her bed and closed her eyes thinking of the night before.

Lauren finally pulled away from the kiss and Normani's lips were tingling already missing them on her own. They both looked into each other's eyes and smiled as Lauren brushed a stray piece of hair out of Normani's face.

"If it's okay though Mani," Lauren said tucking the hair behind the dark-skinned girl's ear, "I want to take things slow, I mean I haven't even officially broken up with Connor yet and I just want our relationship to be as healthy and natural as possible I don't want to rush into anything just because we were best friends for years."

Normani wasn't bothered by this at all, in fact, it was kind of relieving considering she could hardly believe what just happened she didn't know if she could handle everything all at once. "I'd like that a lot actually," the older girl replied pulling Lauren into a comforting hug.

So, slow they took it, Normani came up with the idea of watching a movie in bed together they didn't even cuddle, just sat next to each other looking over to one another smiling from time to time. It was enough just being next to Lauren and seeing her smile during happy parts or laugh her adorable laugh during the funny parts. Really, she could have watched Lauren watching the movie the whole time and been just as entertained. When the movie ended, they went to their separate beds, because sleeping together on the first night would just be too much.

Normani opened her eyes when she heard her phone buzzing, she picked it up seeing Ally's name on the caller-ID. "Hey, Ally! What's up?" she answered.

"Well hello, stranger!" Ally replied in her cheerful voice, "I feel like I haven't seen you in forever, besides those 5 minutes yesterday when you came to get Lauren. How is she by the way? Also, I was wondering if you wanted to go on a little lunch date with me!"

"Lauren's fine now, actually she's not even here," the brown-eyed girl looked down at her current state, a baggy t-shirt and some athletic shorts she had fallen asleep in. "I would love to go to lunch," Normani started, "but give me half an hour to clean up, I actually just woke up."

Ally let out a little chuckle, "fun night? You'll have to tell me about it at the restaurant, just come down to my room when you're ready and we will head out!"

They said their goodbyes and Normani hung up jumping out of bed to take a shower and put on a more presentable outfit. She had gotten used to showering quickly because the hot water usually ran out after 5 minutes. After she was cleaned up she threw on a cute orange halter top and some cutoff shorts. It was finally warm enough to wear spring clothes and Normani was taking full advantage of being able to show off her incredibly toned body.

Almost exactly half an hour later she was knocking on Ally's door ready to go. The short girl answered with the biggest smile on her face and immediately hugged Normani telling her how much she had been missing her. The two girls headed out of the building to Ally's car, a bright red Mazda Sedan that matched her bubbly personality perfectly.
