Mae's POV
I walked down the somewhat crowded streets. I stayed fairly close to Fang, crushing his arm with mine. He seemed to noticed cause he keep asking me if I was okay, of course I would say I'm fine. What else was I gonna say? 'No I'm not cause I'm the last of my kind and I have social anxiety and I hear all the voices of the villagers.'? Uh I think the fuck not! So I just kept that to myself.
3rd Person's POV
As they walked through the town Mae kept getting more and more stressed, she tried to keep it inside but she could feel herself slipping away.
"M-Mae? Are you o-okay?"
Crystal asked softly and very lightly touched Mae's shoulder. Mae quickly spun around with wide eyes, ready to attack. She spun around so quickly she spooked they fragile girl. She softened her glance when she saw it was just Crystal.
"Oh, Crystal...It's just you."
Mae sighed.
"Sorry if I spooked you."
Mae said rubbing the back of her neck. Felling bad about it.
"N-no. It's okay. But are y-you."
Mae looked down.
"Yeah...I'm fine."
Crystal stared at Mae with a serious look.
"You're lying. I can tell when people lie."
Mae sighed heavily.
"It's just that I have really bad social anxiety, and it's really hard to keep...it inside when I can hear the voices. I don't know...maybe I shouldn't have came..."
Crystal hugged her gently.
"If you didn't want to come you could've just asked..."
Crystal said gently.
"It's fine but..um...could you not tell Lillith and especially not Fang."
Crystal stared at her.
"Why not?"
"I just don't want them to get worried I guess."
"Fine. I won't tell THIS time."
"That works for me."
They both smiled slightly. Crystal, seeing Mae smile for the first time made her smile wider.
"You look so pretty when you smile Mae."
This made Mae blush.
"Well you look even more pretty when you wear your hair out of your right eye."
This made Crystal blush a dark crimson.
"T-thanks."
