I sat at the tracks during break. My friends were running laps for the hell of it. I just awkwardly watched them.
They acted like Natsu hadn't left for almost a year.
Like nothing had changed without him.
I refuse to acknowledge that the world would still go around without him.
Because of him, many things had happened. None of it would be happening if it weren't for the boy who went missing.
I looked to my left and started looking for a book to read in my bag. There were exercise books, line papers, junk, food, junk food and two reading books. I took out the on the on the outer side and looked at the cover.
I grinned and opened it to the page I had been on.
'You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one...'
I bit my lip at the note, trying not to laugh at the little, maybe big, reference there had been on that note. Even if a little bit in my mind had wondered how my little mysterious stalker had got into my bag.
But I love her for doing this.
I placed the note in the outer pocket of my bag and went back to my book. I was only on the third word before looking up to check on my friends. Even if they were mostly all older than me, I acted the most mature in situations.
I smiled as I noticed Natsu was still as fit as ever. He was still showing off with his speed as the others were lagging behind, not even trying to catch up.
Nothing had changed for them but it had for me.
Natsu had got faster and thinner in the year.
I didn't like that.
I might not know the reason why he had ended up losing a couple of pounds but something about it triggered me.
I really don't like it, but it must have been for a good reason.
I jolted as I felt a slight vibration from my left inside pocket. I even knew who it was for the love of God.
Only Sting Eucliffe would be able to talk to me over the phone during school.
I grabbed my bag and put it on my lap as I sat cross-legged on the tar. The heat of the light got to me as I leant back on the brick wall behind me. The teachers on watch were talking to a couple of students a little while away.
I took it as an opportunity and took out my phone and put it in my bag. I unlocked my phone and started talking back to Sting through text.
'Can I introduce you to Rogue tonight? He's coming over whether you like it or not!' He suddenly asked and demanded me.
All of a sudden, he wanted me to meet his friend. A friend that was a year older than me. Even if Sting was older than me, how was I meant to act towards him? Sting only ever told me that he was quiet but mature. Like me but talks less in front of others.
How was I suppose to act? I never met him, the only reason I was friends why Sting was because I knew what he was! Sting said he was human enough to him and sometimes Sting lies! Like the time he said he was going to pick me up from my club the other day but forgot and made me walk to his house!
"Luce! Help! Erza is going to kill me!"
I watched the screen of the TV as a cartoon came up. My body was sprawled across the sofa and I had a drink on the table stand next to me within reach. The remote was on my waist and I watched every pixel in detail.
Everything was blurry for a second.
Then then a knock came on the door.
I sighed as I rubbed my eyes and took the remote to pause what was on. I tossed the remote on the sofa and walked over to the front door.
"It's Sting and Rogue!" A familiar voice came out from the other side. I closed my eyes, trying to expect what I should. Sting had never shown me a photo of him. And I've never had a photo os Sting either but whatever.
I opened the door and opened my eyes. Blonde hair filled my view as the taller man hugged me. Over the year we had made a sibling-like bond. Well, even more than before if that was possible. He touched my hair for a while as I tried to look for his friend.
All I could see behind him was nothing and no one.
"Nice vase."
I turned around and Sting stopped stroking my hair. I tall dark figure was looming over in the living room. He looked about the same height as Sting but you could barely see his face. Most of his attire was dark colours such as black and greys.
He was wearing a hoodie and his hands were in his pockets as he studied the vase my grandma had made for us. He had dark hair and didn't look like he was going to break the case either.
"That is Rogue, he's a little tipsy from time to time...I'll be right back, I need to go pee!" He said urgently as he ran up the stair. Both Rogue and I watched him as his figure disappeared.
And then we just stared at each other.
He started to walked towards the door and stand in the light. He was a contrast to what I had known. I hadn't seen anyone so...dark?
I watched his fingers pull things out of his pocket. I watched as he took out something small and cylinder like and a lighter. I watched as he took a few tried making the fire stay a light and froze.
Fire.
It was blazing and hot like anger. Like it was some sort of warning. It would let out smoke any moment to choke me. To end anyone person that would go near it.
All of a sudden all I could see was a small figure with silver hair running into a fire. I could feel something up my back grinning down at me. The sight kept replaying and something in me told me it was meant to be sad and meaningful.
But why?
"Rogue, you smoke?"
