Yuuri was half asleep in the waiting room when he heard his phone buzz, his eyes were still red and puffy from crying so much. He pulled out his phone to answer his notifications, lots of missed calls from Yurio and lots of texts from him too, and a text from Otabek at the top as the most recent.

Yuuri slid his lock screen to the side to read the texts, he knew there'd be now point in texting or calling now as they were on the plane. He read Yurio's and Otabek's texts before typing up replies for both and pressing save so he could send them later.

Just then the doctor came into the waiting room where Yuuri was, Yuuri jumped up "is he okay?" He asked worriedly. "The surgery was a success" he said Yuuri sighed in relief "he's still unconscious but I can assure you he'll be fine". "When can I see him?" Asked Yuuri biting his lip.

"Not today I'm sorry" said the doctor, "come back tomorrow and I think it will be okay for you to see him" said the doctor. "I'm not leaving him" said Yuuri, "if you insist on staying in the waiting room until morning then that's fine" he said before walking back into the ward.

Yuuri waited until he was gone before running down the corridor to where he knew Viktor's room was, there was no way he was leaving him overnight with out at least seeing him first. He waited until the two nurses had left the room before running in as quietly as he could.

Viktor had never looked so peaceful, he was hooked into an IV machine and an oxygen mask over his face. The beeps on his heart monitor were steady and equal, bandages adorned his left shoulder and Yuuri didn't even want to think about the damage done to his legs.

Yuuri held the hand of Viktor's good arm close to him and planted a gentle kiss on his palm, "take as long as you need" whispered Yuuri "I'll still be here no matter what when you wake up again" he said before turning back to the door and getting one last glance at Viktor before he reluctantly made his way back to the cold unwelcoming reception.

As he was walking back down the corridors he felt his phone vibrate in his coat pocket, he slid his phone screen open and opened his messages, the ones he sent to Yurio and Otabek had been answered. They had only just arrived at the airport and were getting their luggage.

Yuuri aloud himself a small smile at the fact that Yurio whom pretended he didn't care about whatever happened to either of them had traveled half way across the world to see if Viktor was okay. Still fighting to stay awake he text back Yurio and shut off his phone before letting tiredness overcome him.
