"Hey! St-stop right there!" The soldier cried. Caltrops laughed, his voice twisted and distorted by the corruption. He swiveled his head around, a glowing green smile engraved in his head. The soldier had a gun drawn. Caltrops cackled at the sight. "You insolent dog! What do you plan to do with that puny thing? I defy death!" Caltrops yelled. His voice seemed to tear along the walls. The soldier, injured and holding his side, defiantly fired. Caltrops morphed his blighted body, making holes for the bullets. A click then came from the gun. The pistol was empty. "You should have stayed dead. Maybe then you'd live." Caltrops chided, strolling towards the soldier. The soldier began to limp away, his armor creaking and clattering. Caltrops had torn a path through the hallway, morphing his body into a flurry of horrid blades. It corroded the armor, and cut bodies into ribbons. The bunker was painted red with gore. Caltrops grabbed the soldier by the helmet, tearing it off like a hat. The soldier cried out, whether it was pain or fear, it's not certain. What is certain was the horror on the soldier's face as Caltrops encased the soldier with his body, making a dark steel tomb. There was a scream and nothing as Caltrops crushed the man within his metal body, becoming a ball for a moment. The sound of cracked bones echoed through the hallway.
There was no more mercy. Only pain.
