"Knock!" "Knock!"
Gloomy morning- I heard a knock
Not the knock that you know,
Not the knock that you joke,
Not the knock that you are thinking,
Not the knock from the door.
"Knock!" "Knock!"
Again... but I couldn't decipher where the knock is coming from,
I was puzzled and glued on my own feet
"Knock!" "Knock!"
Again.
"Knock!" "Knock!"
Beads of sweat are starting to form
My lips shaking, unable to utter even just a word
"Knock!" "Knock!"
I look up.
There.
Finally, I saw where the knock is coming from.
"Knock! Knock!"
It was clearer this time.
"Knock! Knock!"
I answered carefully and slowly, "Yes?"
He took a step forward; leaving me no choice but to step back.
Backward... forward... backward... forward... bac-
But it was a mistake- my back touched the thick, cold wall.
He smiled.
Devilishly.
I cringe in fear, feeling hopeless to escape.
"Knock!" "Knock!" but his voice now soft...
"Y-yes?" I can't even utter a word properly
He whispered,
"Knock, knock. Can I come into your life?"
He look at me straight in the eyes,
like a lost sheep in the wilderness...
I nod.
