“She is the Madonna of the class, afterall.” Catherine gasped as she saw her friend with her beloved. Well, not literally “beloved”, one-sided love perhaps.

Catherine as described by her classmates is an average school girl. She is admired by the class for her god-like scores in Mathematics. She is a musically-inclined girl too. Shannen, on the other hand, is known for her strong-but-cute attitude. She can kick your ass in front of the teacher if she wants to.

Thus, earning her the title “Madonna”. No one wants to mess with her. No one.

“Nee..Daichan buy me a huge teddy bear I saw yesterday. Pleaaase?” Shannen pleasing the

prince-like Daiki with her puppy eyes.

“Hai..hai..” he replied back with his lovely huge smile.

Shannen and Daiki are currently in a relationship. They started dating since spring last year. No doubt afterall, since Shannen is the Madonna and Daiki is their school’s prince. Perfect couple indeed.

However, Catherine is in love with Daiki, but she doesn’t want others to notice it. She’s afraid losing her bestfriend afterall.

Daiki saw a piece of tiny paper falling off from his locker.

“Let’s meet after dismissal, okay? At the usual place”

There he saw Shannen standing waiting for him.

“Let’s break up.”

“No. Why? Don’t you love me anymore” Daiki replied in “imgoingtodiewithoutyou” tone

“Sorry Daiki. B—ut, I don’t love you anymore”

Shannen left him there. He was literally crying like a baby. He doesn’t want this to happen. He loves his girl so much and he knows it well that she loves him back.

“Daichan? Why didn’t you come? She was expecting you to visit her?” Catherine asked the boy. She didn’t know what happened between them. In short, she didn’t know that Shannen and Daiki broke up days ago.

“What are you talking about?” he replied back

“Shannen. She..wait you don’t really know what happened to her!?” Catherine asked

“What happened to her? Please tell me!”

“She left us already. Shannen died because of leukemia. She handed me a letter before she died. It was for you. Here.” As she gave him the letter.

Sorry Daichan. I gotta leave you earlier than expected

I broke up with you so that you can find someone who

Can spend time with you when I’m gone

I still love you Daichan.

“Why?! WHYYY” Daiki cried and cried.

----after 2 years-----

Daiki is dating Catherine. He is happy when she’s with him and the other way around.

It is currently their anniversary and they decided to go in Disneyland for their date.

Daiki anticipated her presence but all he got is a phonecall from the hospital.

“Do you know Miss Catherine?” an unknown voice was using his lover’s phone.

“Yeah.”

“You need to come here, as soon as possible.”

“Where”

“Matsuzawa Hospital”

Daiki hurried to the hospital to know what happened to Catherine.

A doctor came and approached him.

“I’m sorry, sir. I couldn’t save her”

“Wha—t?

“She’s dead on arrival”

Daiki wanted to kill himself that time. First he lost Shannen and now, Catherine? Does the gods hate him so much, he wondered.

To ease the pain he’s feeling, he promised to himself.

“I’m not going to fall for a girl from now on.”

He went to a bar and there he saw, a pretty guy that anyone can mistook as a girl.

“Name please?” he approached the guy.

“Kei..Inoo Kei. Yours?”

“Arioka Daiki.”
