Prologue-The Light Is Red

All that could be heard was screaming.
All that could be seen was red.
All that could be felt and tasted was blood.
All that could be smelled was iron and decay.
But one girl stood at the center of it all, her tears of guilt and mourning wetting the floor that was caked with blood beneath her feet. The child looked up with quivering brown eyes at the man who was her captor, her chocolate gaze begging for mercy. Above her hung the bodies that has suffered for their differences and disobedience, and below her lay the blood and tears, holding their very existence.
"Get up," said the man. "I have a job for you."

After that my life began, I was changed, and hated because of it. My life turned into an attraction from an amusement park, a lie waiting to be lived. I kept my fair share of secrets, and I've told my fair share of lies and killed my hand of people. But I've never changed from that little girl I once was. I'm still the little hero I longed to be. The road just gets a little bumpy sometimes...
