I kicked the ball as hard as I could, landing it in the goal. My white leopard allmate bounced up and down.
"Goal!" She yelled happily. I grinned at her as another ball appeared at my feet. I turned as someone knocked."It's Aoba," my allmate told me. "Shall I shut down the simulator?"
"Yes please," I answered as she did and I walked up to my bedroom door, opening it to see my favorite bluenett boy. "What's up?" I asked as he smiled.
"It's dinnertime," he said and I nodded, picking up my allmate and walking with Aoba downstairs. Tae smiled at the two of us as we approached, sitting down at the table as my allmate, Snowfall, and Aoba's allmate, Ren ran around with each other, playing.
"How was each of your days?" Tae asked after we had said blessing over dinner.
"Fine," Aoba said, as usual. "Just work. Nothing special happened really." They both looked at me.
"What?" I said as Aoba looked at me expectedly. "Oh, it was fine I guess. Just lots of kids running around lately."
Aoba worked at a junk shop, and I worked with him. It was mostly quiet, despite the three kids that came in and terrorized Aoba.
Tae shook her head.
"You never have much to say," she said, disappointed. I hung my head a little.
"There's never much for me to say," I answered. "I don't like to talk..." Aoba swiftly changes the conversation, knowing Tae would press me and I would get upset.
"How was your work today Granny?" He asked softly as I leaned back in my chair, not feeling hungry anymore. Granny went on and on, and my mind began to wander.
"I'm going to go out," I said when Tae paused. Aoba sighed.
"Just don't get hurt again," he said. "Last time you played, you got beat up pretty badly."
"I'll be fine," I snapped, picking up my dishes and dumping them in the sink. I picked up Snowfall, and tucked her into my backpack, swinging it over my shoulder and grabbing my set of house keys. "I'll be back later tonight." I shut the door before Aoba could snap a retort.
I stepped out into the night streets of the city, and immediately spotted a crowd and flashing lights. I made my way over, and pulled out Snowfall from my backpack, setting her down at my feet as she jumped up and down with excitement. I waited for the next round, and jumped in. My opponent was weak, and I set Snowfall in. She set to her human form, and prepared to fight. My opponent was first, and he sent a weak attack with his allmate. I thought through my list of commands, and found an attack that would take him out.
"Death Swipe set," I said, and Snowfall nodded, sending the attack and the field dissipated almost immediately as I took out my opponent. I slipped out through the crowd before anyone could flag me down, and I started towards home.
I knew Aoba didn't like it when I played Rhyme, that game. But it was a pastime for me. I loved it. But Aoba was always protective of me, he always has been. And I loved him, I really did. We just don't always get along.
I reached for the front door as soon as I reached home, and opened it. I looked at the clock to see that one match had taken me an hour. Tae and Aoba were already asleep. I locked the door and went upstairs quietly, opening my door, and closing it behind me, setting Snowfall to sleep mode, setting an alarm, and crawling into bed.

The next morning, I awoke to my alarm, waking up Snowfall and getting dressed for the day. I went downstairs, said a quick goodbye to Tae, and walking out the door in the direction of the junk shop. Aoba started work two hours before I did, but we ended our shifts at the same time. I walked to the shop, passing all kinds of people around me. I reached the shop, and pushed open the doors, to see Aoba battling the three kids.
"Stupid Aoba! Stupid Aoba!" The three chanted over and over. I sighed, setting down my backpack and walking over to the kids. They saw me immediately, and two of them shrunk back, while the girl glared at me, her hands on her hips. "Get outta here lady!" She said. "Aoba is ours!"
"Actually," I said. Picking her up by her hoodie as she screamed and struggled. "He's mine." I threw her out onto the street with her two brothers, and shut the doors. I turned and Aoba smiled at me.
"Thank you," he said. "I don't know what I'd do without you sometimes."
