It was my first day of my new school, and I was terrified. I'm not good at making friends, and I'm quite shy until someone really gets to know me.
I walked into the school office for the first time at roughly eight thirty in the morning and I gave in a small fee in return for a locker. I was given directions to where it was and made my way down the halls. The walls were colourful and reasonably neat, but with the occasional word scrawled across the hard work the staff had put in to decorating them, the appearance wasn't as great.
As I walked towards the many rows of lockers a group of about five girls walked past, giggling about something that probably wasn't even that funny. As they walked past me they all looked at me, analysing me and my clothes. I quickly looked away and sped up, walking swiftly across the hall. I made a mental note to stay away from them.
Then a pretty brunette girl walked past arm in arm with a guy. They looked very much in love. "Hey I'm Emma" the girl said excitedly. "and this is my boyfriend Calum, you must be new? I haven't seen you before"
"Yeah I'm new. My name's Carmen."
"Nice to meet you Carmen!" Emma cheerfully said with a smile.
"I'll see you around then?" She asked. I nodded with a smile and continued to walk down the corridor.I found my locker and used the key to unlock it, then putting my coat and umbrella inside. I hate using either but it was terrible weather outside and I swear there was a storm coming soon. I quickly shut the door and locked it, not wanting to be late for registration. As I turned around to walk away, I walked into someone. The force knocked all of my books and folders out of my hands and I also stumbled backwards. I bent down to pick them up, talking quickly.
"I'm so sorry, I'm such an idiot, I hope I didn't hurt you, are you ok?"
"I'm fine, you didn't hurt me." a voice said.
I looked up and standing there was probably the most stunning human being I'd ever seen. He offered me his hand and I took it, standing up not taking my eyes off of him.
He had piercing blue eyes, which looked mysterious yet friendly & I caught his gaze for a split second. He had a piercing, a silver ring on the left side of his lip. His hair was a dirty-blonde colour, swept off his face effortlessly into a messy up do on top of his head. He had acne, but his flawless features took that away from him. He wore a band shirt, with black skinny jeans with rips at the knees. On his feet he wore simple Vans, but they looked amazing on him. I looked down and realised I had a large hand gently holding my arm to steady me on my feet.
"Are you alright? Did you hit your head?" The boy asked, and my head snapped up back to his face, after I realised I'd been staring.
"Uhm I think I'm alright, thanks" I said, and I started walking away quickly.
"Aren't you going to tell me your name?" He asked hesitantly as I walked down the corridor, but I didn't turn around then as the bell indicating first period rang and I didn't want to be late.
"I'm Carmen" I called over my shoulder.
"I'm Luke"
