"momo shut up and give tzuyu back her tickets!"

"uh not until she says i am smart!"

"haha no because you have to admit, you can be dumb sometimes."

"come here you little-"

"ah momo unnie im sorry!"

"momo leave her alone!"

"shit what time is it?"

"its 12:30!!! GUYS WE NEED TO LEAVE!"

chaeyoung sat on the sidelines, her eyes focusing on the water as jennie stood on the block almost having a heart attack. she was nervous to say the least, and she couldn't pretend to be brave anymore. on the inside, she was freaking out. lisa knew that jennie couldn't shield her nervousness anymore, and it brightened the blonde's mood to know that her girlfriend wanted to lift her spirits earlier.

jennie hasn't been to most of the swim practices this year due to her work hours and staying after school for tutoring. the only reason why she is swimming in this event was from the lack of swimmers. (*cough chaeyoung cough*) the brunette did not know whether she improved on her swimming skills or from not swimming for about a month, she decreased her time.

it didn't help that nayeon wasn't here to calm her down.

people were beginning to file in just as the referee came back from talking to their swim coach. the shuffling of people on the bleachers began to make jennie more nervous. there was a larger audience now. what if she messed up? what if she accidentally slipped and belly flopped into the water? the brunette was sure she would die of embarrassment.

the crowd was speaking rather loudly as no one seemed to catch on that there were swimmers eagerly awaiting to start. a number of "shhh" sounds were made as the people began to catch on and lower down to a whisper. just as the referee was about to tell them to take their marks, the swimming pool door opened abruptly. jennie instantly looked over towards the door and gasped when she saw who it was.

she looked as if she had been running and it didn't help that there were a few small puddles of water on the floor. everyone turned to look nayeon as she froze in her spot. her face turned a deep shade of red as she looked to find her best friend.

when her and jennie met eyes, she smiled and gave her friend a kiss.

she winked playfully before making her way towards the bleachers.

jennie sighed in relief and smiled brightly. upon seeing the brunette puzzled, she let out a low chuckle before recomposing herself. now that she had her good luck charm in the room, jennie was now confident in the way she would be swimming today.

chaeyoung watched this exchange trying to make sense why tzuyu's nayeon was here for her jennie. the shorter girl let it slide for now thinking to herself that she will question the brunette about it later. she was here to support her friend, not bash her. when the girl looked back, jennie had dived into the water gracefully. she seemed to be swimming her fastest time yet. a series of cries from the crowd began to erupt and now people could enter without being stared at.

this was a great opportunity for tzuyu.

the brunette walked into the pool area, pausing a moment to watch jennie in the water. she smiled and caught eyes with chaeyoung and dahyun before sana rested her hand on the small of her back. nayeon called for the group to make their way over to her, but tzuyu soon realized that she would have to pass by chaeyoung and her squad. the brunette clenched her jaw and grabbed sana's hand before the group followed her up.

"what is she doing here? i mean, she isn't a swimmer anyway," chaeyoung exclaimed. she leaned back so that she was in between jihyo's legs. this caused the older girl to almost drop her camera.

jihyo sighed. "chae, half the people here aren't swimmers. can you just leave her alone?"

chaeyoung rolled her eyes and grabbed a bag of hot cheetos from her side. "whatever."

the shorter girl let it go. she knew better than to argue with them now even though the situation pained her. what was so special about tzuyu that everyone liked so much? why were they always defending the taller girl when they didn't even know her?

truth was its not that chaeyoung couldnt stand the girl - no. she couldnt stand her feelings. she has never felt any particular way towards anyone, not even mina and she is her girlfriend. her attraction for the brunette started when they were in middle school. dahyun often questioned her about them on how it was even possible for the girl to spend most of middle school obsessing over a someone and those feelings vanished mysteriously the summer into high school especially when those so called feelings turned into hatred.

"so what are we going to do after this?" the girl questioned while handing her camera to jihyo.

"well nayeon wants to take jennie out for some ice cream, you know how much the girl loves it," jihyo replied. she placed both cameras into her bag securely and took some chips from chaeyoung.

the younger girl sighed. "gee, i didn't know they were dating," the younger girl said sarcastically. she rolled her eyes as jihyo scoffed.

"can you just be mature for once? jennie and nayeon are best friends. of course she would want to take her out to congratulate her," jihyo responded back. she moved abruptly causing chaeyoung to sit up properly in her seat.

the younger girl crossed her arms, "well if they were already best friends, how come i never knew about it?"

"we are your friends, chaeyoung, not your minions. you dont have to know every single thing about us , and you certainly don't get to control us either," the brunette said. dahyun paused for a moment thinking back to their exchange in the bathroom about a week ago.

so it wasn't just tzuyu's group that thought of them as chaeyoung's minions; her friends did too. should that say something of her best friend's relationship with all of them? should dahyun even be questioning it? the brunette shook her head. she couldnt bare to think about it anymore. she just watched on as lisa almost slipped into the pool water trying to dance to the latest pop song.
