The way that we loved
The way that we cared
It was all excellent time shared
And many things to hold dear
When we met. . . .
It was love at first sight
A conversation exchanged
The joy of being together
Was one of great achievement
We were truly blessed
To say that we both met
And then. . . . . . . . .
Our hearts become one
To be together in the glistening sun
Never to realize self-worth
Otherwise it could have worked
Then, the down spiral
Then, the wreckage
Then, the tears
The once steady boat
Could never stay afloat
Because of the fights
Because of the rough talks
We fell apart
And lost feel for one another
Never to be seen again
Never to stay till the end
My love had disappeared
It never came back
Only feelings of friendship
Decided to stay
I can't love you like I use to
But we can be friends
We were once happy
Now we're both alone
I know that we hurt each other
But I want to say I'm sorry
For all that I have done to you
For making you feel bad
I want us to be just. . . . . . . . .friends
And to realize that this phase
Was a look into better things
To come for both of us separately and
Equally
