Only Happens at Winter Camp
Prologue:
We arrived on the travel buses seven towns over into a town that was engulfed by mountains. There were deep forests trees surrounding the camp. They were covered with powder white snow and tea lights. God, I felt bad for the person that had to put those up. There were six huge cabin buildings and one building on a small hill. It was probably were everyone met in for group activity. However, that was all I could see. We'd been cramped up in these buses since five and probably been riding for three hours, so when we arrived in this small town we'd been greeted with utter pitch darkness, so the rest of the camp came up as an undefined building.
As I stretched in my seat as they were about to let us out I looked over at my best friend Grace. Her wild red hair was matted on her face as she was sleep in an awkward position on her boyfriend Dameon. They were both knocked-out, so I pushed the side of Dameon's shoulder making him stir. His hand came up in a stretch and went down with a loud thud onto Grace's cheek. That woke her up for sure, and had a loud howl of laughs on my end. Dameon without a clue in the world received a smack to the head with, "You fucking jerk," whispered loudly into the ear.
Dameon's eyelids popped open and he stumbled on his words, "What did I do?" The conversation went on like that for a couple of minutes before the teachers came up through the aisles with a baggy for each students phones. We couldn't have them for the whole week we were here.
As I got my baggy with the permanent marker I placed my android into it and zipped it. After writing my name on it and handing it back to Ms.G I turned to my friends. Grace looked like she was about to cry as she zipped her pear phone up into the baggy and handed it off. "Oh come on Gracy it isn't that bad. It's only a week. You can go without "Social It" for seven days."
"You still have an Android, you have no idea the wonders of a Pear phone," she back lashed seconds later. It gained a smirk out of me and a light chuckle from Dameon. As we continued to talk amongst ourselves with small chit-chat the doors of the bus finally opened. It felt like an instant when the cold raw air crept into the bus. It drew a shiver out of my spin as it bit at my skin.
Ms.G got on the intercom and her peachy sweet voice sprung around the walls of the bus, "Welcome to Winter Camp."
