The assembly was led by Cheryl Blossom

The assembly was led by Cheryl Blossom. She bloviated on about the dance, but May couldn't complain. She got a free pass out of class (AN: I got bars ;)) May really did feel sorry for Cheryl, she didn't wish what Cheryl had to go through on anyone. But Cheryl was using this to draw attention to herself than was needed and May wasn't one to give extra attention. She found that it fueled people's ego, and that was a dreadful thing.

To make the assembly a tad more interesting, Reggie was sitting next to her. All he did was pester her on arbitrary things. While it was a distraction from the words coming from Cheryl's mouth, she wasn't sure if she found it an encumbrance. He asked countless questions and she gave almost zero responses.

When the assembly was finally over, she joined both Jackie and Brandon for Spanish class. She noticed that the two had been becoming quite close over the summer. By close, she meant physically and emotionally. They always seemed to be touching, whether it be sitting almost on top of each other or just holding hands, they always found a way.

"May, can I come over tonight?" Jackie asked while leaning her head on Brandon's shoulder. He took no notice of this and if he did he didn't show it. The twin continued his conversation with his fellow baseball players.

"Definitely, Mom has been wanting to see you. I don't think she's seen your hair since you cut it," May answered, pondering whether or not her mother has seen the girl's shoulder length hair.

"Your mom hasn't seen my hair," Reggie added, butting into the conversation. May glared at him, what made him think that she wanted anything to do with him. It's only the first day and he's acting like their best friends.

"No, she hasn't seen your hair, Mantle. Why don't we keep it that way." Jackie noticed her best friend getting annoyed with the nagging of the football player. The boy was showing her attention and it wasn't negative. Jackie would die for that, she didn't understand why May wasn't pretending to tolerate him like she does others.

Reggie didn't seem to give up, " Your mom may not want to see my hair, but I'm sure she'd love to see something else." The boy gave a wink and walked away to his seat leaving the trio with their mouths gaped open.

" That disgusting pig better not come over here again or so help me god, I will take a pair of pliers and a shoelace and just-" The curly haired girl was cut off by her calmer brother. It seemed that they had switched rolls.

"Shh child, it's the first day. You don't already need a suspension for threatening people." He put a finger to her lips causing her to immediately draw back in disgust.

"Um, I don't recall asking for your germs?" May yanked her brothers hand away, he responded by being overdramatic and fake-crying.

"It's never that serious," Jackie insisted while May nodded in agreement accompanied by an eyeroll.

May was leaving the prison also known as school when a certain giant aproached her. Instead of being her friendly self, May flat out ignored him. She didn't really have a reason other than getting a kick out of it. The boy had his head in the clouds, confused on what he did. (AN: I'm over-exaggerating his height, b/c I'm salty about being 4'8)

"May, I'm sorry," the boy almost yelled. This certainly hot May's attention.

"For what?" Now it was May's turn to be confused.

" I don't know, for whatever reason you're ignoring me for."

"Wow, so sincere," May made sure her words were soaked in sarcasm.

Reggie let out a sigh and was ready to just give up and leave.

"I was only ignoring you as a joke. You know that, right?" May said, trying to sound the sweetest she could be. She knew he was getting frustrated.

He responded with a scoff, "Whatever," and turned around leaving May all alone.

      Oops?
