Chapter 2

Finns P.O.V.

I woke up to the sound of Noah. "Wake up Finnlard!" I sat up in my bed. "Why?" I said annoyed. "We have school, duh." He said. "Oh right that." I said laying back down in bed. I had only known Noah for one day and he was already annoying me, being all excited for school and stuff. I couldn't help but think of that girl last night. Millie. She was about five inches smaller than me with short hair. Gorgeous might I add.

I got up and threw on a t-shirt, jeans, a leather jacket, and sneakers. Boarding school, not where I intended to be this summer but maybe it won't be so bad. I meant there was Millie. She was hot.

When I got to my first class I saw Millie sitting in the back. I went back there and sat next to her. "Hey there cutie." I said. "I'm not cute." She said writing. "It was a compliment." I said taking my binder out of my bed. "I don't like compliments." She said. "Oh sure you do, everyone likes compliments." I said in a nice way. She seemed uncomfortable. I didn't want that. I wanted her to like me. I thought she would like a compliment. Guess not. "No me." She said looking at me. Our eyes locked.

"Please turn to page 104 kids!" I snapped out of it and tuned my pages.

I walked back to my dorm by myself. I couldn't stop thinking of Millie. I shouldn't have called her cutie. I made her feel uncomfortable.

"Hey cutie!" I heard a soft voice behind me say. "Oh hey." I laughed turning around. "So you think I'm cute?" I asked. "If you need to know yes, your not that bad. Bye!" She said skipping into her house and shutting the door. I smiled. So maybe it wasn't bad I called her cute. "Hey Finnlard!" I tuned around. It was Noah. "Hi." I said. Caleb and Sadie walked up behind us. "Hey kiddos!" Sadie said. "Just because I'm like a couple inches smaller that you doesn't make me a kiddo." Noah said. "Yeah whatever, there's a party tonight at one of the north campus dorms. Wanna go?" He asked. "No I need to study I have a test next week!" Noah said. "Is Millie going?" I asked not even realizing what I just said. Of course I was down for a party but if Millie was going it would be that much better. "Why don't you ask her lover boy." Sadie said. Caleb laughed and out his arm around Sadie. "I'm not a lover b.... whatever sure I'm going." I said. Noah rolled his eyes and walked inside. "I'll see you guys later then." I said walking inside.

I heard a knock on my door and opened it. It was Millie in a high rise jean shorts with a black crop top. "Wow you look...." I was cut off by Millie. "I don't like compliments!" She said fast. "Terrible. You look absolutely terrible." I said jokingly. "Better!" She laughed know i was going to say beautiful. But she wasn't beautiful. She was gorgeous. "Shall we?" I put out my hand. She laughed and put her hand in mine. "We shall." She giggled as our hands laced together.

Caleb, Sadie, and Caleb came walking. "What are you two dating now or something?" Gaten said. "No would you shut up!" Millie said pulling her hand away from mine. I frowned. I liked her holding my hand and Gaten had to ruin it. I gave him a death glare and he threw his hands up as if I was a cop telling him to. Sadie smiled at Millie and she blushed.

We started walking, Gaten in front, Sadie and Caleb with his arm around her, and then in the back me and Millie. I looked down at her and she looked up at me. Her eyes were beautiful. Not beautiful gorgeous.

When we got to the party you could hear the music blasting from outside. Caleb knocked on the door and some drunk guy opened it. "Hey weirdos!" He said stumbling away. I looked at Millie and we all walked in. Gaten immediately went out of sight and Caleb and Sadie went to sit down on the couch. I took Millie's hand and pulled her through the crowd of people into the kitchen where it was just a couple people. I sat down on the ground. She sat down next to me.

"I wonder what Gatens doing." Millie said breaking the silence. "I'm going to take a wild guess and say he's with a girl. That moment Gaten stumbled in with his arm around a girl. "Oh hey!" He said. "Whose this?" Millie said. "Sophia!" He said. "Hi Sophia!" I said. "Is this your girlfriend?" Sophia asked Gaten pointing at Millie. "What?! No! She with him." Gaten said pointing at me. "Sure is!" I said putting my arm around Millie. Millie laughed and blushed. "Yeah whatever." Gaten said walking out into the crowd with Sophia.

I pulled my arm off her. "Oh sorry Millie I didn't mean to...." I said before getting cut off by Millie. "Finn it's okay." She said. I smiled and our eyes locked again. We started leaning in and got interrupted by the drunk guy who opened the door for us before. "What the heck!?" He said. We laughed and he walked out. Millie got up. It's getting late we should go find Caleb and Sadie. We found them on the couch. Someone offered Millie and beer and she pushed it away. "We should go." She said. "Good idea." I said. "Nuh uh I'm staying." Sadie said laying her head on Caleb. I looked around to see Gaten only to find him dancing with Sophia. "Let's just go." I said grabbing Millie's hand and we walked home.

We sat on the hill in front of the houses. Millie laid her head on my shoulder. I put my arm around her. It was one of those moments, the ones you would never forget and never wanted to end.
