Marie opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry and unclear, yet was able to sense the bright natural light that shined out of a single window and detect the upper wall that was the ceiling. She tried to sit-up straight, and felt a stinging burn on her left cheek. She was semi-conscious and her body felt frazzled; however, Marie pushed herself to move forward. When she arose half-way, a throbbing headache occurred that almost felt like little men with hammers were repeatedly hitting the backside of her head for amusement. She was annoyed by this pain, yet again continued to pull herself out of bed. Marie sighed in relief when her bare feet touched the coldness of the wooden floor, even brought somewhat a sense of joy.

Her limbs were weak, but were somewhat mobile. Marie grabbed the bedside table and used it to sustain her weight pulling herself upward. It was a struggle, grabbing hold of whatever furniture she can to get to the bathroom. When she ran out of furniture and still had some distance, she fell to the floor and dragged herself the rest of the way. Using the granite countertop for support, she gathered herself and was surprised seeing her reflection through the looking-glass. Upon her left cheek was a result of Eddie's frustration, the purple bruise was swollen and had a redness encircling the mark. At the center was a minor cut that was open, causing the stinging pain. Marie grabbed a small towel, saturated it with alcohol and gently dabbed the blemish. Though, the affliction increased, Marie made no reaction. She had a strong tolerance for pain, to her this was a minor tingle.

The throbbing pain worsen. Marie trailed her fingers through her entire head, only to find a swelling bump the size of a baseball. Then, through the corner of her eye she spotted something in the background. Where the shower stood, on the tiled wall, there was a hole. The surface was somewhat sunken in. This triggered her memory.

'He smashed my head to the wall'

She thought as she recollected of what happened. Obviously, it happened during the time when Eddie was showering Marie. She struggled to get out of his grasp and He grew tired and lost patience. Leading him to smash her head to the tile.

She applied pressure to the bump, but stopped midway when the door creaked and heavy thumps entered the room. She recognised those footsteps. His.
"Marie? Darling?" He says loving, but loud as his footsteps draw nearer. Marie panicked inside, and said no response to her name. Instead, she backed away farthest from the door until her back touched the wall. She still held on to the counter for support. Marie didn't have any strength to fight him or defend herself.  She didn't want to see him, nor wanted be near him.
Thoughts, strategies, ideas and tactics scattered her mind all at once; she wanted to take her vengeance ;yet, at same time escape and run. Marie knew she was too weak to achieve her goals; however, there was one option that could grant her freedom and possibly fulfill her blood thirst.

Suddenly, the bathroom door opened and who walked in was none other than tall and happy Mr. Gluskin.

Obey Him

"Oh Marie darling, you had me worried for moment"
He sighs in relief then starts taking steps towards her, Marie gripped the wall tight as if she would hold on forever and not have to go with Eddie. He laid his hands on her whole shoulders, then leads down and kisses her on the each cheek even the bruised one. Eddie shifts from a happy smile to a rather concern look. He then caresses the marked cheek. Marie turns her head a little away from Eddie. His lips then connect with her forehead
"I know darling, " he says softly. Eddie's hand grabs her head as his wide arms confine her body in to a hug. "I apologize that I hit you, Marie. You know how a man gets when he's frustrated " he squeezes tighter.
"But I will make things better" he says as his arms unwraps her and lays another kiss to her forehead. The anger boiled inside her, if she had the power now to snap his toned neck this would be the moment. Marie looks up at his dangerously blue eyes, then at his dashing white smile. The many lives he's taken, this is what drew in the prey. Marie was not impressed. For she was no prey, but a predator also. "Darling, Lets get you dress"

~Marie~

I was back on the bed again. Only this time my hands were free, but not my feet. He dressed me in a night gown that he obviously made and combed the tangles out of my hair. Then left the room with a excited grin. There was only a moment of silence, then the heavy steps continued again, only quicker. My head throbbed some more, before fading away. The door opened making a long eerie squeak. I looked up and what I saw shook me. There Eddie stood tall and proud, holding of what appeared to be a little girl's doll wrapped in a pink blanket. But when the doll began to make soft sounds, I knew that it wasn't a doll. A real baby.

'Was the baby mine?'

A question that was clearly answered, when he put her in my arms. Yes, it was a girl. A beautiful girl, with a full head of light brown hair. I felt the negative energy vanish and held her close. She was alive and breathing and she was so beautiful and perfect that I mistook her for a little girl's play doll.
"My baby" I said gazing at her existence.
"Our baby, Ivy" He added.
"Ivy?" I said in confusion.
"Ana said you loved the name" Eddie said. He was right. Ivy was indeed my favorite name; yet, the name didn't belong to baby. My daughter needed a elegant and strong name. Then I took a moment, she opened her lovely curious eyes and looked all around the room and paused at me. Her eyes had a sweetness to them with a hint of green. We looked at each other and it was as though we made a connection. Her tiny hands held a strong grip on my long, thin finger and I kissed it. She was smaller than a shoe box.
"Victoria.." I whispered.
She smiled and I did too.
