Chapter 1: Unexpected Reunions

I was walking across the street over to Starbucks, getting coffees for Anthea, Pia, and myself. The whole city was jammed with cars and the streets flooded with traffic. The people were busy talking on their phones, determined not to waste much time,or maybe even on their way to some important event.

As I entered the small kiosk, warmth surged my whole being, incapacitating me in a bubble. I took my place in the queue and waited patiently. The time came for me to order but before me they annouced a name, a familiar one which I couldn't decipher.

"Anne Rodelle?"

Who is that? And why do I have a feeling I know her?

That's right!

Sixth grade geometry class.

I must admit, Anne looks very different now. Her brunette hair cascaded down her back in elegant curls, her eyes as warm and brown as I could remember. She wasn't very tall. She was as tall as me, in fact. Judging by her looks I would say that she's taken.

"Anne?" I ask and she looks up to confirm my prediction. "It's really you!" I exclaim and her eyes widen in what I could only think was surprise and recognition "Alexia Williams?!" She exclaims and I nod enthusiastically, circling my arms around her, giving her a giant hug.

"I don't believe this!" I exclaim and she nods, laughing "I know how you feel. Look at you!" Anne shouts, eyeing me up and down and giving me an approving look "I bet all the lads are always after you." Anne winked and I let out a laugh "What about you? You look better than me!" I say and she shakes her head with clear dissaproval.

"Excuse me miss, you're holding the line." The barista says politely and I smile sheepishly "Sorry." I say and order my drink. I sit with Anne in an empty table and we begin to catch up with each other.

"So how are things?" I ask, propping my elbow up on the table. "Things have been great!" Anne gushes, copying my actions and taking a sip from her drink. "I can't believe you left me for Australia." I pouted, Anne, Anthea and I were super good friends back in grade school. When we graduated sixth grade Anne dissapeared off to Australia where her father was. Anne's mother died because of lung cancer, you guessed it, smoking.

Anne lets out a hearty laugh "Sorry. Anyways, any lucky lads out there?" Anne winks suggestively and I shake my head, grinning "Nope. I'm as single as ever. I bet you're taken by some hot Australian surfer." I say and she laughs "You're true about the part about me being taken but he isn't a surfer." Anne tells me as I hear the barista call my name. I stand up to claim my order and sit back down on our table.

"Spill." I say once I sit back down and Anne starts to tell me various stories about her boyfriend "I met him two months ago at the beach. I practically saved him from drowning! He was the most terrible surfer I'd ever seen. But I guess it's okay since he was practically the cutest guy on the beach. Finn and I exchanged numbers and -" I stopped her, preventing her from going any further.

"His name is Finn?!" I exclaim, sighing dreamily "Damn, you're lucky." Anne furrows her eyebrows confusedly and I chuckle "Finn is always a name for a hot guy. I can imagine him now. Toned six-pack, sandy blonde hair, gorgeous eyes. Am I right or am I right?" I sighed dreamily and Anne stared at me with wide eyes.

"Are you my boyfriend's stalker or something? You freaking know how he looks like and that's just weird." I laughed at her and shook my head "I'm not his stalker. I've always imagined a Finn would look like that. Does he?" I ask and Anne nodded as I giggled "God, I'm a psycho."

"You're right about that." Anne chuckled I playfully punched her arm.

"Ow." She pouts and I shrug. "Just like old times, aye Williams?"

"Just like old times, Rodelle."

I KNOW I KNOW I'M SHIT AT UPDATING AND I'M SORRY!

I've been busy flying in and out of the country and WiFi is just slow. I would post a picture of Anne but I'm using my phone to update this chapter. Better this than nothing, right?

Heads up, you have to read GLY (Guys Like You) before you read this so the book will seem more relevant. Also, I won't be updating frequently since my aunt and uncle are flying in from England. Sorry.

But anyways, VOTE and COMMENT!

Cíao, bellas! Ti amo! xx
