I am number five

chapter 8.

I get to the mall in no time I walk around a little and then I see her she's checking her makeup in the window of journeys she seems nervous. I yell her way

"Hey Maya!" she looks around her looking for me I run up behind her and squeeze her sides which make her let out a sound thats loud and funny she wipes her head around her hair slapping me in the face.

"Oh my god Darby don't do that!' she says in relief that its me she hugs me like earlier (the bear hug). we make our way to the food court. we buy chinese and share it l

  "So what was you alibi to get out the house? I didn't think you'd be able to come." which reminds me to text Selina

  "I didn't lie if thats what you mean" I say with a smile as she scoots closer to me. her brown hair falls out from behind her ear which makes her baby blue shirt look even more amazing on her. her arms are longer then her shorts that she's wearing. she sees me examining her and her eyes sparkle in the skylight and she's looks away and coughs which is clearly fake.

  "So what store do you want to go to?" i say braking the silence

   "Um what about Rue 21?"

  "Yea cool" we walk there and start to try on clothes that we won't buy she makes me sit in a chair to wait and see if she looks good in anything she comes out wearing a pink and black shirt with black pants. SHE LOOKS HOTT. my mouth opens but I don't say anything.

  "I didn't know I looked that bad ill go-"

  "NO!!!! you look amazing Maya!" I say cutting her off "You buy that!" she giggles

  "Really I look good?" she says looking at herself "I didn't think so thanks Darby!" I wait for her to change so I can try a couple of shirts and a pair of jeans on. she walks out the dressing room smiling and blushing at the same time. are hands brush when we walk past each other. I want to grab her hand just kiss her but I don't. I walk into the dressing room and chance into a blue and black shirt and a pair of dark jeans I walk out and Maya looks at me with a giant smile

  "Whoa!! you look hot!"

"Oh I didnt know i looked bad. ill go change." I say playfully I go back and change back into my clothes and walk out but I don't see Maya. I walk around to try to find her but I cant. I go into a full on panic. I run to the girl side then the guy side then i look into the mirror I see her trying to sneak up behind me i act like I don't see her so I walk forward and I use my Lorien hearing to determine how far she is from me she's a few feet behind me. she starts to run, she leaps from the ground before she lands on me I turn to catch her. she lands in my arms wedding style. she's surprised that I caught her. we lock eyes for a split moment them i sit her down slowly its awkward for a minute while we  buy the clothes. we walk to a bench and we sit down and she looks at me like she's trying to decide about something.

  "What is it?" I say with sincerity

"Darby I've been having a great time with you, but I have to know theres a rumor going around saying that you have a crush on me is that true?" I look at her with shock in my eyes

   "Who told you-" she cuts me off

  "Is it true or not Darby?" I grab her hand and hold it and put the other on top.

  "I've liked you since I've met you Maya and I want to be Maya and Darby the couple not maya and darby the close friends." I look over at her she still surprised that I grabbed her hand she looks up at me

  "I would love to date you Darby!" she hugs me super hard I try not to hug to hard but its hard not to

"We hold hands to till we get out side waiting for her mom to pull up we're just looking at each other not a word being said. she looks so beautiful in the moon light. her mom pulls up i walk her to the car and im about to let go of her hamd till she turns back and she hugs me and then whispers in my ear

   "thanks for the wonderful night Darby"

then she kisses me on the cheek then she runs off to the car.

                      chapter 9.                      

    im filled with emotions I just want to leap in the air and fly haha but I cant I don't have that power I grab my phone and text Selina that im on my way. I get on my bike, blast my music and start for home my rock music sounds different then I remember but i don't care im to happy I ride by a light and I whip my hand like im slapping someone and suddenly a streak of red and blue line fly out of my hand and hits the light I stop immediately I look at it confused I rush home not thinking how fast im going im home in the matter of seconds when my house comes into view my book chain pops I jump off and run inside. I look around the house yelling Selina's name. she finds me with her Lorien sword ready to fight

    "Whats wrong!" she says eyes widen

  "Oh god Selina put the dam sword down theres no Mog."

  "then whats wrong?"

  "Oh nothings wrong I only broke a god dam light with a lazier that came out of my dam hand so no biggie!" Selina looks so confused

    "Wait you said you shot a lazier shot out of your hand?"

   "I didn't studer did I?" Selina whispers something even my enhanced hearing cant even hear it

   "What?"

   "You have the power of Corian!"

   "Which is?"

   "Only the second elder had it no one could maintain the power except him. everyone that pasest it had it taken away because they couldn't handle it, they weren't strong enough."

   "then whats gonna happen to me? im only 14 I cant haddle that power right now!"

   "Darby you 9 were chosen because your more powerful then the elders! that means you can handle it."

   "oh ok" I say with releif

  "so what exactly is Corian. like what powers do I have?"

   "Its kinda a siren but alot different. you can attract people with music and you can create lazers with sounds it doesn't matter what type of sound bombs, music, a plate crash l, anything!

   "training here we come!"
