Warnings: Mentions of death of relatives

Her heart was beating, faster than usual. She was running, running away from her capture. Her face was beaded with sweat and she was screaming, screaming for help. Not that she thought anybody would come and help her. She'd been trapped in the same dream, the same alternate universe for years. "Help! Help me, please!" A raspy voice said, she recognized the voice. She turned around, her dead boyfriend was standing in front of her. His face was full of bruises, and his chest had a bullet hole through it. "Run" he whispered. And she did, she ran for her life. Behind her, she could hear gunshots and screams. She'd gotten used to it now, but she just had to see whose screams it was. So she turned around and what she saw shocked her beyond words. The guy who captured her was being beaten to his death by Janes dead boyfriend. The last thing she saw before she blacked out was a bullet to her chest.
Jane woke up breathing heavily in a hospital bed. "Where am I?" She gasped and looked around. A nurse walked in, "I'm glad you're awake, Miss Jones" the nurse said and smiled warmly. "Where's my parents?" Jane asked the nurse, who was apparently called Sunny Key. Sunny Key began to fiddle with the hem of her uniform. "I'm sorry to inform you that they died in the shooting." Sunny said and smiled apologetically. "They-They're dead?" Jane gasped. The nurse nodded sadly.
Jane slowly drifted off to sleep, it wasn't a pleasant sleep.
