The pleasant honeymoon ended, and now it was time to do nothing. Even Death stopped doing stuff. 1,000 years in mortals time is equivalent to 1,000 days in heaven's. These are the rules in which the reckoning begins. Satan is locked up in a cage and nothing really happens Death had followed the rules Hades set for her, only to kill the wicked and collect the innocent. The babies that came to be came, those that met them end of their life span died. It was relaxing for Daisy, and the others, but I was on edge. I count the days as they go by, 1000, 999... everyday a countdown until the truth is revealed. 998...997...
I feared for Daisy, I feared for what will happen when she knows Death will cease to exist, and she'll die by her husbands hands. What will she do if I died in combat? 996...995...994
Claude suggested I took the day off and let Michael or Daisy handle my office. I knew the end was coming... but I needed to train, and my office has a gym for that purpose. The final battle was going to begin in less than 500 days. 499...498...
Time a beautiful construct at first, to think this would no longer exist and I can be immortal, like I once was. I had to train harder... no demon nor Death shall defeat me. 365...364...363...
Daisy couldn't keep her worry within herself any longer and coaxed me into bed for a little. I was exhausted and needed rest. 241...240...
"Sir, do you think Misses Shinra could've broken the seals to apocalypse?" Claude asked.
"Claude you know the answer, it is through the death of many things that the seals can be broken." I replied.
"I know sir but after being married... and doing so well..." Claude tried defending her to no avail.
" Claude she is having an affair with one of the horsemen." I explained.
Claude spat his tea in a spray of surprise.
"An affair? With which one? Famine? War? Conquest?" Claude asked in disbelief.
"It's War she's just putting on a facade with Hades for now. She joined the horseman and soon she shall ride. They will kill by sword, pestilence, and beasts of the earth. I feel bad for the mortals having to endure them." I answered.
"We can get rid of them right sir?" Claude inquired.
"They'll all be thrown into a lake of fire, there will be no need for them after the final battle." I replied.
"What of Hades then sir?" Claude still worried asked.
"Hades is different, Hades is the death of darkness. He will kill the Death he was betrothed to, its sad really. He will have her drown in the lake for her affair." I answered.
"I see master Life, nothing worse than adultery. But according to revelations they will bring out Lucifer from the cage... are you ready to fight to the last man?" Claude asked as if I never fought battles before.
"Claude, with you and Excalibur at my disposal, Heaven shall be victorious, we will lessen the casualties and bring back any angels that were killed in battle should they serve Jesus." I assured him.
Days approach until end time truly kicks off. The horseman fueled their mustangs and prepared for the slaughter. 100...99...98...
These last hundred days I thought it was good to enjoy the luxuries of being married and went with Daisy for some sparring of our own. At this point there's s nothing I can do. May as well make the most of it. 83...82...81...
Claude went into power saving mode... the battle that will take place is none of the like I've ever faced. 75.....74... 73....
Daisy continues to worry about my mental state, as the last 20 days came to be. My poor beloved, she has no idea what is going to happen. I know she isn't going to like this.... but sadly it's my duty, my Destiny, to fight Shinra, and fight the war against hell. 20... 19...18...
Daisy tried making me tea to relax, but I've been so tense I've broken every teacup she handed. The burn didn't even feel like a thing anymore. It wasn't that I was scared of fighting Death, that's all fun and well, it's because I'm scared that this means I won't have an arch rival and Daisy would lose her friend. For this thought on my conscience to dwell in my mind for so long, I thought I was going mad. Daisy tried everything to calm me but war is something that one can't be calm in. 5...4......3....2....1.
The horsemen took to their steeds and the war has begun.
