Kuu had went to bed early that night, early being as soon as all the guests had left and she had apologized to everyone; She didn't apologize to her father though. That was something she didn't think she'd be capable of doing for a while.
Kuu laid her head restlessly on her pillow with a sigh. She didn't wrap her blanket around her, no matter how cold she may have been at that moment. She brought her knees up, her hands laid gently on her stomach. So many things were going through her mind that night, but she couldn't take the time to think about them. They just kind of came by to float around in her head and then drifted away to let another thought come by. She sighs and turned her head, looking at her phone as it sat on the charger, it was lit up so she picked it up and brought it above her face.
Kuu had an incoming call from her only friend, Sasayaku Asuna. She quickly answered it, knowing how easy it would be to talk to her.
"Hey," She greeted.
"Hiya!" Asuna chimed into the phone, "How was your first day at Ouran?" She asked. Kuu smiled a little bit. Asuna was a second year at Ouran, so she knew how hard it was to be a Freshman at a school full of rich kids.
"It was okay," Kuu replied, "I mean it was a little less than okay, but generally it was okay."
"You're talking like a lunatic again; What happened, Kuula?" Asuna says, using that nickname that she gave Kuu when they were children. They weren't necessarily friends then, but their parents came together for a meeting so they played all that day, and when you're kids it's easy to make a best friend in a day.
"Asuna," Kuu groaned only slightly, embarrassment clear in her tone. Then moved on to answer her question, "Do you remember when we were younger? And you found me outside, when it was snowing?"
"I could never forget it," She states, "And that bastard, Hikaru, who made you cry." she added bitterly.
Kuu felt her heart beat awkwardly, "Yeah," She says, with a breath that makes the word tune in and out a few times, "He's in Class 1A... with me."
Asuna was quiet for a moment, pursing her lips, then a heavy sigh flows out of her mouth, "Well, that's unfortunate for him,"
"It is? I mean.. he doesn't even remember me."
"He will though, and I swear, Kuu, if he hurts you again I'm going to kill him." She said, completely serious. Asuna had hated Hikaru ever since he hurt Kuu the first time. She didn't even have to meet him to hate him.
"Thanks for having my back, I guess," Kuu breathes, "But I don't think you have to worry about him hurting me. I don't plan on talking to him, or being with him at all."
"Well good, I care about you too much."
Kuu smiled, "Thank you." It was quiet for a little, while the two girls breathe on the phone. Nothing was being spoken between them.
Kuu suddenly yawns though, causing Asuna to grin, "I should let you get some sleep, see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I'll see you. Bye, Suna-chan,"
"Bye, Kuula~"
Kuu sighed and dropped her arm to the side, letting her hand hang off the side of her bed with her phone in its grasp. She laid silently for a moment, staring at the white ceiling above her.
Before she knew it, her eyes had closed, and instead of a boring ceiling she was staring at the vast night skies.
The next morning, Kuu was up and ready at seven and arrived to school at eight thirty. The walk to class was eventless until she saw Asuna in the hallway.Their eyes met and both smiled.
The small meeting was cut short when someone cleared his throat behind her. Kuu turned around, ready to apologize, but found she couldn't even begin to breathe. Hikaru stood in front of her with those same cold eyes she remember, "Nice to see you again, Kuu." He says smoothly as he walks past her into the classroom, Kaoru following closely behind.
Kuu caught her breath as he disappeared and suddenly regretted showing up today.
