Over the past couple of years you had developed a close relationship with Sabo.  He and Koala had passed through your training programs with flying colors and you heard what happened on their missions. Mainly from Koala whining and yelling about how stupidly reckless Sabo often was with his antics, to which you could only laugh. To you it felt kind of like the two of you had rekindled if not completely refreshed your friendship from your childhood. And through that time and the few missions that you served, you had also run into Ace and the Whitebeard Pirates.

Though you wanted to tell Ace about his brother being alive and that you had found him you decided not to. Your goal on that matter was to try and help Sabo regain his memories in a hopefully painless way before letting Sabo tell Ace and Luffy himself.

So the day when you got back from a mission to the news of Ace's and Whitebeard's death you were completely distraught. But more than your own sadness at the loss of your good friends and the trauma that Luffy no doubt suffered your mind instantaneously went to the Sabo.

You ran faster than you ever thought possible throughout the base in search of him. But what eventually led you to his location was his pain filled scream coming from Dragon's office.

Bursting through the door you pushed passed the others rushing toward him and made it in time to prevent Sabo from hitting his head on the carpeted floor. The pain and suffering was all too apparent on his face.

"What happened!" you yelled out angrily.

Bits of black mist was leaking out of you. The first to speak up was Koala who had gained either some resistance or had learned how to block some of the mist's effects by this point.

"Sabo freaked out after looking at this!" she said while grabbing a newspaper off the desk and handing it to you.

Ace's devilishly handsome smirk greeted you on its front page. That was all you needed to understand the situation. You then proceeded to assist Hack and Koala in taking Sabo to the infirmary and explain Sabo's condition to the doctor as best you can. And not once within the next three days did you ever leave Sabo's side.
