A/N~ Well guys its finally here. The last chapter. Second half is a little rushed so I'll try to get some time in to edit a little more later. But in the meantime thanks to all of you who waited patiently for this and Merry Christmas!~
Before you even opened your eyes you knew who was holding you in their arms. The sound of the music box you left with him had been enough to tell you that. As you slowly opened your eyes you were happy to find yourself gazing at the night sky as a smiling Sabo gazed down at you. The light rays from the full moon overhead accentuating the kind gentleness of his features that even the large scar had failed to mar in any way.
"Rise and shine sleeping beauty." He said in a somewhat joking manner. Didn't you say that to him once before? At the moment you were in a small boat with your head leaning against Sabo's chest. The music box was beside him and was partially opened, enough to hear music but not enough to see any contents inside.
You couldn't help but smile at him. "Don't go stealing my lines blondie." You chided him in a joking tone. He pouted adorably before replying "I'm just calling it as I see it."
"So you think I'm a beauty?"
"Both inside and out."
He had stated this so bluntly and with no hesitation whatsoever. You couldn't help but laugh, causing him to pout even more. Leaning up slightly you kissed him on the cheek causing his face to explode in a bright red blush.
"Thanks Sabo."
He looked at you stunned for a moment before smiling brilliantly. Your heart felt like it was going to pound right out of your chest at the sight. Then he reached over and grabbed the music box, bringing it in between the two of you.
"Ready?" he asked as he stared into your eyes. Nervously you nodded. Slowly he opened the music box revealing the hidden treasure you had kept with you all these years.
At the sight of that small heart shaped piece of folded fabric the missing pieces of Sabo's memory came flooding back into their respective places in his mind and heart. His eyes equally flooding with tears as he gazed at the physical reminder of his childhood crush that had grown into love before setting it down to tightly embrace you. Tears pricked the corners of your own eyes as you returned the embrace.
For him it felt as if he were truly whole again and now that he remembered how long you've been the most important thing to him there was absolutely no way he was letting you go. Then he remembered what Robin had said and pulled back just enough to wipe his tear streaked face with his sleeve.
Leaning down, he rested his forehead against yours while resting his hand against your cheek.
"(Y/n). I have something really important to ask you." He stated.
He paused for a minute, exhaling heavily as he gathered his thoughts. "Would...would you marry me?" he stuttered out.
Despite the abruptness of the question you weren't surprised about it. Bluntness about what he felt had been a trait he shared with both of his brothers after all. And you decided to answer it the best way you knew he would understand. So quickly and passionately you closed the distance between your lips and kissed him.
He was still for only a moment before responding just as passionately. But as he moved his hands toward your waist and back so that he could pull you closer the two of you heard loud wolf whistling.
Breaking apart you gazed at the distant ship and spotted Koala waving at you with a cheeky grin on her face.
"Hey Sabo, your ears are literally burning."
"Shut up Koal-AH!!!"
At the end of Koala's name Sabo looked up to see that his burning ears had caught his top-hat on fire and he began to frantically pull it off his head and throw it into the ocean water.
~a year later~
You had learned a few more things about your past since Sabo's proposal. Namely that Ace had a crush on you when you were kids but had given up on winning you over for Sabo's sake and that when the boys did talk about things like marriage, Ace was the original brother that was to be the best man.
Luffy had recently become the pirate king and his crew's cook had also apparently fulfilled his dream of finding the All Blue. So when this occurred the long-nosed member of the crew had the brilliant idea that the first meal the cook would make with the ingredients he got should be for you and Sabo's big day as a way to thank Luffy for helping him find it.
Before long Luffy's crew had not only planned your wedding for you but had invited most of your friends and family. Somehow they were even able to make the party a neutral non-combat event so that your friends who were nobles or marines could join too. Even your father who you hadn't seen in years was there. And when you and Sabo arrived Sabo cried hugging Luffy and thanking him profusely.
The party itself was a boatload of fun and naturally more than a little chaotic. Among many others your father was a blubbering mess when he gave you away. And Luffy actually tried really hard to act like he should and not whine about being hungry, despite his stomach giving him away a couple times. But after you and Sabo said your vows and shared your symbolic kiss the two of you noticed a familiar orange-hatted figure in the crowd waving at you before it faded away. Making your way to the dance floor where the figure had previously been, music then started up. And you found yourself being pushed by an unseen force into Sabo's arms, where you then started dancing like you had the first time. A familiar piece of heart shaped fabric pinned to his chest as you leaned against him and wished that this moment could last forever.
