Ender's eyes scared me. They were empty with no source of life. But, his grip was like iron wrapped around my wrist.

"Ender.." I try to pull free. "You're hurting me." I felt tears come to my eyes.

Ender's grip didn't loosen, but instead he reached for my other hand. I knocked his hand away and grabbed the steak knife. In a blur, I somehow knocked him onto the floor, me on top of him, knife at his throat. A trickle of blood landed on the floor.

"Ender. Let go of me." Instantly, he let go. I quickly stood and dropped the knife, then ran out of the room, back to the barrack.

When I stepped inside, everyone was asleep. The snores of the boys are annoying, but I decided to ignore it. I walked over to my locker and pulled it open, pulling out a pair of white pajama pants and a white tank top.

I climbed into my bunk, rubbing my wrist, letting tears fall onto my pillow. A pain throbbed in my heart all night long.

--

"GET UP!" Someone shouts in my ear. My eyes pop open, and my hand reaches up, fist ready, then makes contact with skin. I hear a thump next to my bunk. I sit up and look over the edge to see Fray looking dazed. "Wow."

"Were you ever taught not to wake up a girl like that?" I stretch and rub the sleep from my eyes.

Fray stands and gives me a goofy grin. "Can I get hit like that again?" I laugh as he gets closer, but I push him away as Ender walks in.

Ender stands there looking from Fray to me, then back again.

Then I realized we were in the most awkward position. I, laying down, with Fray climbing on top of me. I scooted my self up and Fray stood awkwardly.

Ender clears his throat. His throat. I noticed the cut on his neck has almost finished healing. "If you two wanted some privacy-" Fray and I cut him off shaking our heads quickly. "Elena, today you will command." Without another word, Ender left.
