The next day arrives quickly and Jungkook isn't quite sure if he's ready to face Taehyung again after their small encounter on the rooftop. They're in Math, awkwardly sitting next to each other, while the teacher rambles on about functions. It's like the teacher notices the tension between the two boys because she turns around to face them and arches an eyebrow.

"Taehyung", she calls out and the said boy gets startled as the words crash through his daydreaming.

"Yes?"

"Have you guided Jungkook around the school like I asked you to do a few days ago?", the teacher puts her hands on her hips.

"Uh... No, not really", Taehyung admits, ignoring the stares he's getting.

"Do it now then. It's not like either of you are paying attention", she purses her lips and motions for the door. The brown haired boy sighs and slings his back pack on his shoulder. He walks out of the room, dodging the desks in the room, with the younger behind him. The door falls shut when both of the boys reach the deserted hallway. An eerie silence follows as neither of the boys speak a word.

"Do you need to be guided?", Taehyung asks looking at the ground.

"Not really", Jungkook mumbles, rubbing his foot on the floor.

"Good", Taehyung replies and walks off. The younger gets confused for a second but decides to follow the other. He hears Taehyung sigh and the older sits down on the staircase close to the cafeteria. Jungkook sits down next to him, his tail hitting Taehyung's side once in a while.

Taehyung drops his head in his hands, "Why do you keep following-"

"Can I be your friend?", the hybrid interrupts him, looking at him with a hopeful expression on his face. Taehyung seems taken aback by the request.

"Are you out of your mind?", Taehyung yells, his voice resonating through the hallway.

"No... I don't think so", the younger mumbles, staring down at his fiddling fingers.

Taehyung rubs his temples,"Then why do you want to be friends? I've told you a hundred times that being near me is bad for your reputation".

Jungkook snaps his head up and shuffles closer to the other. "I don't care about that!", he says with determination, "The more you tell me to stay away from you, the more I want to be close you".

"I really don't understand you", Taehyung closes his eyes in frustration. He feels a small hand landing on his large one, a warmth spreads through him. His eyes snap open and he looks at their intertwined hands, trailing upwards till he meets Jungkook's kind gaze.

"Please. I just want to be friends", Jungkook smiles, hoping the other will accept him.

"I-I can't do that to you. People around here love you", Taehyung shakes his head, retracting his hand. He sees the other's hopeful expression fade away into a blank one.

Suddenly the bell rings and doors get thrown open around them. People fill the hallway, throwing weird glances at the two boys on the staircase. Taehyung immediately gets up and hurries away from Jungkook. He noticed students were throwing disgusted looks at the younger and he really doesn't want to be the one who made people hate Jungkook. He doesn't want to ruin the other.

"Taehyung!"

Two small arms wrap around the running boy, freezing him in his path, along with many other students. The raven haired male is pressing his face against the other's back.

"Pwease let me be youf fwiend", his voice comes out a bit muffled by Taehyung's shirt where the younger has buried his face into.

"Let go!", Taehyung hisses. Panic fills him as he sees the stares they, no Jungkook, is getting.

"Only when you accept my request", the stubborn boy says, stomping his foot. The older feels the small arms gripping him even tighter.

"Okay okay", he sighs in defeat, "You can be my friend but let go now".

Jungkook giggles happily and releases the other who scurries away immediately. The younger doesn't care. He befriended Taehyung! He looks around happily but notices the students staring at him with confusion, concern, disgust and hatred. He shrugs and walks away to the cafeteria where his friends were sitting in the back.

"Hi g-"

Jimin pulls the younger down, "Why the hell do I hear people gossiping about you?"

Jungkook shuffles a bit away from his best friend until he almost bumps his thigh against Yoongi's.

"Something to do with Taehyung?", Hoseok asks concerned.

"Did he attack you?", a boy wearing pretty pastel colors asks him. Jungkook looks at him and tilts his head in confusion.

"Oh, hi, I'm Jin", the other smiles, "I'm a banshee".

"Hi", Jungkook waves shortly.

"Answer us Jungkook! This is important", Jimin grabs the other's shoulders and shakes him around.

"Jimin, let the poor boy go", Yoongi groans seeing Jungkook's distressed face.

"He could have died! Taehyung can't be trusted", Jimin shrieks.

"Actually hyung, he's really nice", Jungkook speaks up, surprising everyone around the table.

"I did not just hear Taehyung and nice in the same sentence", Jimin places his hand on his heart.

"Are you okay Jungkook?", Namjoon asks him with concern.

"Yes", Jungkook nods, frowning a bit, "And Taehyung is very kind".

"I think he's getting sick", Jimin slaps his hand on Jungkook's forehead to measure his temperature.

"Hyung! I'm serious!", Jungkook pouts, his tail hitting Jimin in the face.

"We told you he's dangerous. You promised not to get near him", Hoseok frowns, crossing his arms.

"He isn't dangerous at all. And he's not evil, he's just lost. Did anyone of you ever talk to him? Gave him a chance? Did something else than just follow the so called rumors?", Jungkook snaps as he gazes at his friends around the table. They all wore guilty expressions.

"Thought so".

The raven haired male gets back up, snatches his sandwich from his tray and walks away, ignoring the filthy stares thrown his way from other tables. He just walks out.

Because he has a friend to go to.
