MAKE SURE TO READ THE NOTE AT END! IT'S AN IMPORTANT ONE!

Next chapter I'm going to begin with my book reviews in the notes. The first one will be of The Winner's Curse by Mary Rutkoski and the one in the following chapter will be of White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout. The copies I have are ARC ones so both books aren't out yet, so I thought it might be fun for you guys to have something to look forward to. I think ARC copies are always much more fun. I remember reading the 5th Wave a few months before it came out, and it made it a little bit better.

Anyways, have fun reading! This chapter is the longest one to date, so have fun!

SONG OF THE CHAPTER: EVERY TIME WE SAY GOODBYE BY ELLA FITZGERALD

ISABELLE POV

"You need to call Magnus. He can help us," I told him, as I slipped my phone into his hand.

"Are you sure?"

"No, but if we don't try you'll lose them both," I answered.

He looked looked down at the phone. He was about to press the call hutton when a nurse came over.

"Mr. Herondale?"

"Yes, that's me," Jace said," Is my wife alright?"

"I think it might be best if you sit down," she told him.

"Tell me what is happening."

"Would you please sit?" she asked.

"I want to know," he stated.

The nurse sighed, knowing that he wasn't going to listen.

"Mr. Herondale, I'm very sorry," she began," Unfortunately we still are unsure of what condition your wife is suffering. But she is stable."

"You don't know what's wrong with her?" he asked," Aren't doctors supposed to be the ones with answers?

The nurse completely ignored my presence. As did Jace. Clearly he wasn't thinking. Of course they didn't know what was wrong with her. How could they?

"We have a few questions for you, Mr. Herondale. I think it would be best if could come with me, so that you could speak with us in private."

"No," he said," I'll answer them here."

"I don't think-"

"My sister will know just as much as me," Jace interrupted.

"Either way this conversation will need to be somewhere more private," the nurse told us.

"Fine," he said," But I want to see my wife first."

"I'm sorry Mr. Herondale, but that won't be possible."

Things were beginning to become suspicious. What if this was it? What if this was a trap and she was a demon that had been sent to kill us? I looked her up and down. Nope. She was much too refined to be a demon.

"Excuse me? I have the right to see my wife."

"Under the current circumstances it would be best for her health if y

"Under the current circumstances of her comatose state?" Jace snorted," I hardly think impact her health. I want to see my wife."

"That won't be possible I'm afraid," she said.

I noticed her make a small motion with her hand, as if she were signaling for something. Something was happening. Something she wasn't willing to tell us. As if in queue a pair of guards approached us.

"What's going on?" I asked, as I took a step forward.

"Sir, it would be in your best interest to cooperate," one of them said.
