Chapter 2: Phoebe's POV
"Piper, I'm serious. Billie has been up in the attic for months now." Phoebe said while Piper was chopping peppers for a sauce.
"Phoebe, she's mourning. Give her time." Piper said without looking up.
"That's the thing, she's not. She's been trying spell after spell and nothing's worked."
"Of course it hasn't. She can't bring back a demon she already vanquished." Piper put her utensils down and looked up at her.
"Christy wasn't exactly a demon." Phoebe said. "At least, not to Billie."
"Hey guys!" Billie yelled as she ran down the stairs and into the kitchen. "Do you still have that spirit board?"
"Yeah, why?" Piper asked.
"Well, i figured, since Christy's dead and everything, she's a spirit. So, maybe she can send me a message to tell me how to save her." Billie explained excitedly. Piper and Phoebe exchanged looks of doubt. Phoebe honestly wanted to lie and say they threw it away or something.
"Billie, are you sure she'll know how to come back?" Phoebe said. "Or if she'll even respond?"
"Of course she can, she's a spirit so why not?"
"No, I mean are you sure she'll want to." Billie's smile faded. Phoebe felt bad about crushing her false hope. "Have you tried summoning her spirit?"
"What?" Piper and Billie said simultaneously
"There's a spell in the book to summon a spirit but not resurrect them." Phoebe said. Billie ran out of the kitchen and up the stairs to the attic. Phoebe turned around and Piper was glaring at her.
"What?" Phoebe asked innocently.
"Don't what me!" Piper yelled. "We're supposed to help her move on, not give her more spells to try."
"I know, but what's wrong with helping her eliminate more possibilities? It's not like the spell will work." Phoebe said.
"The problem is, you just gave her false hope."
"I know, but I also know what I'm doing." Phoebe said. She made her way out the kitchen and up the stairs. With every step, Phoebe began to regret telling Billie about that spell. When she got up to the attic, Billie had set up a circle of lit candles. "So let's try that spell."
