We took my car and on the way there she played twenty one pilots and I laughed as she screamed along to it. She wasn't good at singing, but her voice was so mesmerizing; The way she knew every single damn lyric.
When we arrived at Lucy's Breakfast Palace, Lindsey said "Really? This is it. I'm guessing you know Lucy."
"Nah, a Lucy never worked here. Lois is the owner right now."
"Shit man, you know your stuff."
As we walked in Lois immediately hugged me and asked, "Now who is this pretty lady, you've never been here with a girl besides your mama."
I realized Lindsey would figure out that this place was pretty special to me, seeing as I'd never even taken Willow here. We were sat at my normal table in the back, looking over into the kitchen. Our orders were taken right when we sat down, it was never busy here.
"Hey darlin', how's Miles doin'?" Tiffany asked, I usually went here with Miles and my mom in the morning after he had slept over.
"He's good. I would like my usual by the way, thanks Tiff."
"What ever happened to that girl he always fawned over when he came with his buddies. She sounded like a mighty fine piece of woman from what he said."
I looked at Lindsey, I knew she knew Tiffany was talking about her. But there was a more pressing question, "Miles came here without me?"
"Oh yeah, all the time. He came with these boys, I think their names were Will and Hunter. But I'm gettin' old so how should I know. Hey darlin' what do ya want?" She asked Lindsey.
"Umm. Waffles." Lindsey said with a smile, seeming to forget what Tiff had just said about Miles always bragging about her. Tiffany walked away after scribbling Lindsey's order on a piece of paper.
"She seems nice. I like it here." I knew Linds was being genuine because her smile lit up her face, but you still couldn't see any of her teeth. That's the way Lindsey smiled when she was actually smiling, without showing teeth.
"Yeah. I come here almost every morning. It's peaceful. I don't even know how they're in business, nobody is ever here."
"It is." I had a puzzled look on my face so Lindsey just giggled and said, "Peaceful. It's peaceful."
When we got home I asked her if she wanted to go home, she said no but she had to. I said okay and drove her home. It was quiet, and I liked that. It was never quiet with Willow, she was always rambling about something or someone.
The only eventful thing that happened the whole time was when we arrived at her house on Maple Street, she walked into the door, then came right back out again and blew me an invisible kiss.
What the hell. I drove back home and all I could think about was her.
When I walked into my house I found a naked Willow laying on my bed. "I heard what Miles told you, and I'm here to say sorry." Sure, she was here to say sorry.
"I don't care, Willow. It's fine." I honestly did not really give a fuck, but apparently she did.
"Buuuuut Lukey, I wuv you." Willow pouted with big eyes and peach lips drawn into a frown. Right then, my phone vibrated from my pocket.
From: Linds
That was nice. Tomorrow is Monday and I have school. You do too. I'll be there at midnight.
She had to be kidding, she was not going to come to my house at freaking midnight. Let's hope she was kidding, but with Lindsey you never knew.
To: Linds
You better be kidding, but yeah you are correct about the school thing.
From: Linds
I mean duh.
To: Linds
Willow just showed up at my house and now she's naked on my bed.
From: Linds
Did you have any influence on that?
To: Linds
No.
From: Linds
Damn.
I felt like I could tell her anything.
