Four months later

"Hey babe." I pecked her lips quickly but she sat still on the couch staring at the tv. "Are you okay." She turned to look at me, her green eyes showing me nothing.

"Yeah I'm good."

"Well I gotta go, take Parker to a play date. I'll see you later for our date." I buttoned the last button on my shirt and slipped my feet in to my shoes.

"Yeah okay." She offered me a small smile and kissed my cheek.

"Bye." I said before I walked through the door and let out a deep breath. She's been acting weird for the past two weeks and it's freaking me out. Alycia used to make me feel different and now it's like Normani all over again and I don't know what to do.

I walked to the car and sat in the drivers seat before I drove back to the house. When I got there I opened the door and heard the laughter of my baby girl as she ran around the house. I walked quietly into the room and grabbed her as she ran past me. A few seconds later Dinah ran into the room breathing heavily.

"Oh thank god you caught her, you can bathe her." Dinah fell to the floor, exhausted. I looked down at Parker to see that she was in fact naked.

"Oh, run Parker be free." I put her down and she squealed running away while Dinah stared at me wide eyed.

"Why did you do that?" I shrugged my shoulders and smirked. "Your girl came over last night."

"No I was with my girl last night."

"Your other girl." I raised my eyebrow. "Lauren, stupid."

"We're friends and I have a girlfriend and so does she."

"Not anymore she don't." Dinah threw her hands up before walking after Parker. Just then my phone rang and I took it out of my bag. There was an unknown caller and it's probably a person wanting to buy my work because there's been a lot of that lately.

"Hello?" I answered the phone and heard a female voice on the other end.

"Hey Y/N. It's Lauren." A smile rose to my face.

"Hey Lo. You changed your number?" I heard her light laugh on the other end and I bit my lip. I actually haven't talked to her in so long. Since right after the whole Camila thing actually we decided to be friends and that was really it.

"Uh yeah. I came over last night but you weren't there." I heard her raspy voice sound. She sounded nervous. I missed her.

"Yeah Dinah just told me."

"Do you wanna maybe go somewhere tonight. As friends of course." I heard her nervousness as she said the last part. I smiled widely and I know she could probably hear it in my voice.

"I'd love to actually."

"Oh great okay. I'll pick you up at eight?"

"Eight sounds great." I hung up the phone afterwards and then I remembered my girlfriend. Knowing her she'll probably cancel anyway. She's been doing that a lot lately.

As if in cue I got a call from Alycia's number. "Hey?" I answered and heard her breathing on the other end.

"Listen I don't think I can make it tonight I have to work late but I promise I'll make it up to you tomorrow night." I plastered a fake smile on my face hoping she'll hear it in my voice.

"Uhm. Okay I guess I'll see you tomorrow baby."

"Yeah." That's all I heard before she hung up and I sighed. I looked down but a smile soon overtook my face as I remembered that I'm going out with Lauren tonight, as friends. She'll cheer me up.

After bathing Parker and taking her to her friend Jamie's house and back, I started getting ready to go out with Lauren. Parker tried to help me pick out my outfit but she eventually fell asleep under a pile of my clothes. I decided to wear a white tank top and black high waisted skinny jeans.

I did my makeup and smiled as I looked over myself satisfied. A few minutes after I was done I heard the doorbell ring and I kissed Parker's forehead before I went downstairs.

"Hey." I opened the door and came face to face with the beauty that is Lauren Jauregui. A smile creeped it's way onto both our faces as our eyes locked.

"Hey." She held her arms open as she pulled me into a hug. It felt warm and like home. I missed this. "Since this isn't a date I didn't get you flowers, but I got a bouquet of paint brushes." She handed the weird gift to me and I rolled my eyes at the dork standing in front of me.

"Thank you. I'll go put them in water. Come in." I walked to the living room and placed them on the coffee table as Dinah eyed me weirdly then looked to Lauren with a surprised expression.

"Hey ugly." Dinah smiled up at her and Lauren faked upset.

"Always a pleasure Dinah."

"Have her home by 10 and don't do anything I wouldn't do." She pointed a stern finger and I groaned before pulling Lauren with me to the door. "Have fun kids!"

Lauren laughed lightly as we walked to the car, my hand still in hers. She opened the door for me as I got in the passenger's side and she jogged around as she got in her side. "So where are we going?" I asked as soon as we drove off.

"Well the carnival's back in town and I thought since it's where we reconnected why not?" I looked over at her as a hopeful look was plastered on her face.

"I'm so excited." I clapped my hands together and jumped lightly in my seat. The rest of the car ride was filled with mindless banter and it felt like we were in high school again, like everything didn't happen and we were just normal twenty-one year olds with normal lives.

Soon she pulled into the parking lot and we looked at the huge Ferris wheel they had. It glowed all the colors of the rainbow and I felt happy just looking at it. We got out and walked up to the entrance as Lauren payed for the armbands and we walked in together. I looked at her eagerly as we stood in front of the Ferris wheel.

"You want to go on it?" She pointed to the ride and I nodded my head eagerly. "Okay let's go." We joined the very short line and within a minute we were seated on the ride.

The Ferris wheel started moving slowly and the smile on my face was evident as I sat beside Lauren. My eyes widened as I looked at the city lights but I felt Lauren's eyes on me.

"You look beautiful tonight." She spoke up and my eyes averted to her as my face heated up.

"Thank you. So do you." She looked down shyly and I internally awed at her cuteness. "I'm glad we're doing this Lo. I missed you." Where did that wave of confidence come from.

"I missed you too." She said softly as she looked in my eyes. Her eyes averted to my lips and mine to hers as we stopped at the very top of the ride. My heart was beating wildly in my chest and all I could hear was our breathing. The air suddenly became thick and all I wanted was her lips on mine.

"Do it." I whispered and in less than a second her lips were on mine in a sweet soft kiss. I felt butterflies and electricity the same way I felt when we were eighteen and it felt good.
