September 25th 2009

This was the day, a boy of the name Keith, life would change for better and worse. Keith was a frequent participant at foster homes, after his mother had gone missing, while the rest of his family was arrested for abuse and the possible reason to her disappearance. The abuse he suffered since the second he was born, had left him speechless, scolded for any word he had said.

Normally, he would be home-schooled, as he and his foster parents knew he wouldn't stay for long. He hated every person who tried to care for him. Scratching, biting, cursing, and often described as a wild cat that no one could tame.

But now it's been 11 years since his first home, having countless foster parents. This time, his current ones are barely home, which he's most thankful for, and he has a brother. Out of all the homes he's had, he never had a brother, only sisters or none at all.

He walked up the gritty path, towards the looming building. He blew a piece of ebony hair out of his violet eyes, adjusting the straps on his shoulders. Out of nervous reflexes, he tugged the sleeves of his black leather jacket down, fingers then twitching on his blood red shirt, his fingers aching with anxiety. With a gulp, he climbed the steps up to the front door.

"Keith." He stopped, and turned to his brother. "Don't worry, everything will be fine!" He smiled. He just nodded.

His brother, Shiro, opened the door to the school, the breath in Keiths' throat choking him.

"Come on, let's go find my friends. They'll love you." Shiro suggested, but seemed for like a command. He had Antoinette syndrome, and now a strand of his hair was white. His skin that of Japanese, eyes a dark hazel, shaven black hair beside the white. Before Keith joined his family, a terrorist attack occurred. Hit his home town hard. As well as the side effect in his hair, he also lost his arm, having to get a prosthetic after it was blown away. He had then moved, letting his new brother into the family.

The two made their way down locker filled halls, until they reached a stair case in the suburb of the school. A girl with pure hair and cocoa skin leaned against the wall, wearing a pastel sweater and her legs wrapped in galaxy leggings, her name being Allura. A large boy who also had dark skin, a evergreen jacket atop of a sunflower yellow shirt, a orange band wrapped around his head, with black hair on his head, he was talking to another person, who looked neither male or female. Cropped ginger hair, with large circle rimmed glasses. Her clothes consisted of white and green, her stature short, both of their names were Hunk and Pidge.

"Hey guys!" Shiro called. The pure white haired girl snapped her head up, a bright smile flashing across her face.

"Hey Shiro—! Oh! Is this your new brother?!" The girl was very excitable, intimidating Keith slightly. The other two put their talk on hiatus and whipped their heads around to face him.

"What's his name?" The ginger asked, walking towards them. Shiro began the speak but stopped as the mute began to sign.

K-E-I-T-H

He spelt out. The three looked confused, and Keith's brother understood.

      "He's a mute." A chorus of 'OH's followed after.

The bell chimed loudly, forcing Keith to be startled.

"Shit! We didn't get your schedule!" Shiro slammed his hand on his face as he claimed that. The mute silently pat his shoulder in reassurance.

W-H-E-R-E

"Are you sure you want to go alone?" Keith nodded, and Shiro sighed. "Ok, but take this-" he passed him a small crimson notebook with an onyx pen. "-I don't think they know sign language." Keith nodded. "Ok so..."

Keith stood in front of the receptionist, tapping the desk lightly.

"Yes? What is it?" She asked in a bored tone, leaning on her palm. He scribbled down quickly in his notebook.

I'm new. I'm here for my schedule.

She nodded, quickly typing on her computer.

      "Name?"

Keith

She printed out his schedule and map, passing the papers to him. He nodded in a sign of thanks, the swiftly scampered out the office.

As soon as he turned the corner, someone slammed straight into him. He grunted as his body slammed onto the ground.

"Hey! Watch wher—" the person stopped, watching the boy scramble to his feet in panic. The mute quickly scribbled into his notebook.

"Say Something!" He yelled. Keith went to point to his throat, but was slammed into lockers before he could. "Speak!" He shook his head, but the boy took it the wrong way. He punched him in the nose, hearing a satisfying crack. Keith groaned, his hands going to cover his nose quickly as he was harshly dropped to the dusty ground.

"Hey! Leave him alone!" They both turned to the entrance of the hall. There stood another boy, sun-kissed skin with his cheeks dotted with freckles, hair the shade of dark coffee, eyes as blue as the ocean. He rolled up his blue sleeves, his nose flared. He marched his way over to the two, crossing his arms while leaning on his foot.

Keiths' eyes bulged as they landed in the familiar boy. The boys' eyes were focused on him, as he looked at the Korean on the floor.
