It had been only a little less than a week since the death of Mrs. Spence.
Keith left the Cuban boy the morning after, letting him take enough time he needed to calm down. He would text him to see if he was fine, and that he hadn't harmed himself.
He and the Korean had yet to meet, as he spent his time in his room, or with Hunk would drag him out for an attempt in cheering him up.
"Come on Bud! Its White Chicks! Your favourite!" Hunk tried to convince the sad boy flopped of his sofa. He looked up at the DVD held in his friends' hand, as his face twisted with contemplation.
"Ok..." He mumbled, shuffling up the sofa, so his back was pressed against the armrest. He stared as Hunk played the movie, placing himself down on the floor, just before Lance.
Half way through, Hunks' mum walked in, a plate of chocolate chip cookies in her hands. Her black curly hair bounced on her shoulders, a smile spread on her big lips, though a scar was revealed on her arm by her sun-yellow dress.
"Want something to eat boys?" She asked. They took looked over to her, tender smiles on their faces.
"Yea, thanks mum."
"Thanks Michelle!"
They both thanked, as she sat the plate down on the coffee table in front of Hunk. Another woman walked into the room, her skin pale and her body lean, a contrast to her wife's dark one and a body similar to Hunks'.
"How you doing sweeties?" She asked, wrapping her arms around her lovers.
"We're doing fine, right Lance?" Hunk replied, turning to face the latter, who had a mouth full of Michelle's cookies. Lance nodded, as he slipped another cookie into his mouth.
"Oh dear, looks like someone likes my cooking. Guess I'll have to make more..." She sighed jokingly, leaving with a teasing grin on her face. "Jules! Come help me!"
"On it!" Hunks' mother called to her. "See you kids!" She saluted, following suit to the kitchen to help her wife.
Hunk and Lance waved, turning back to the screen.
"Why are your mums so amazing?" Lance mumbled the question, almost talking to himself.
"I ask that myself to be honest..." Hunk chuckled, his eyes still glued to the screen.
Lances' phone lit up, a message displayed from a person who hadn't spoken to him in a while.
'Lance, we need to talk. Are you free?
He sighed, swiping his screen to insert the password and replying to his message.
'What do you need?'
'I need to tell you something. Can you meet me at the Lavender field?'
The Cuban boy looked up at the ticking clock he could see in the hall.
'See you at five'
He put down his phone, another sigh passing his lips. Hunk looked up at him with worry, then placed his hand on his knee.
"Hey, what's up?"
"Keith wants to talk with me... and it seems urgent." Hunk cast his eyes to the floor, his thumb beginning to rub Lances' knee.
"What time?"
"Five..."
"Want me to drive you there?" He asked, nodding his heading to the girly giggles coming from the kitchen. Lance smiled in the two wives direction, then faced his friend. He nodded.
