Why

Moana was walking when Maui suddenly pulled back on her hand.

"Maui?" Moana said turning around suddenly.

"Moana, when you said I was your boyfriend, did you mean it?" Maui said with a blank expression.

"Yeah. Why?" Moana said as she walked to Maui.

"What we're you to that Kauai guy?" Moana gave Maui a troubled expression. "He seems jealous of us." Maui finished.

"We were betrothed to each other when we were little." Moana said with disappointment as she dropped her head.

"I got to go." Maui transformed into a giant hawk and flew away.

"MAUI!" Moana screamed as Maui flew away.

Moana sat there with her parents not eating lunch, and thinking about Maui. Moanas parents exchanged concerned glances and then look back at her.

"Moana?" Sina, Moanas mother began. "What's wrong?"

"Maui. I told him me and Kauai were betrothed when we were little and he got mad and transformed to a hawk and flew away." Moana said upset.

"Moana-" Tui began "Kauai has asked for you hand in marriage." Moanas father said excited. Moana stood up and looked at her father with anger written all over her face.

"WHAT?" Moana yelled. "I am sorry for my outburst but I can't marry Kauai! My heart only belongs to Maui." Moana stood up and left her parents.

As Moana stormed of her mother ran after her. When her mother caught up with her she stopped her and stood in front of her.

"Mom move out of my way!" Moana demanded.

"Come talk to me." Sina said as she walked Moana down to the beach. Sina sat Moana down on a low hanging palm tree and sat next to her to face her. "So... do you love Maui?" Sina said, Moana whipped her head around to look at her mother and then smiled.

"Yes, I love Maui with all my heart. I give him 100% of me." Moana turned and faced out over the ocean and then looked up at the sky to see if Maui was coming back.

"Moana-" Sina sighed "If he loves you he will back to make it known." Sina stood up and leaned her head against Moanas forehead.

"Thanks mom." Moana said relieved because she that Maui loved her.
