Started in the light, pulled to the dark ( a Sharkboy and lavagirl story)

Cuckoo goes the sharky

Grunting from the impact their panels combined into one as they stood there dumbfounded. standing up max cleaned his shirt holding his hand out to Adriana helping her up.

" you okay?" He asked as she nodded cleared her throat rubbing her neck. A thin red line traced her collar as she tried to hide it with her hand. Reaching his hand out to her he gently touched it as she hissed cranking her neck to the side.

"CUCKOO!" Sharkboy yelled pushing their shoulders down. A cuckoo bird flew over their heads almost knocking them to the ground. When it retreated back into the clock everyone stood up dusting their pants.

"where are we?" Max asked.

" on the passage of time" sharkboy replied.

" maybe it will take us to the dream lair" Lavagirl said.

" it's taking us the wrong way, the dream lairs that way" Sharkboy groaned. " sometimes I wish you didn't have to be so optimistic" hand on her Hume she shifted her weight to one foot raising and eyebrow at him.

" well I'm sorry,  just trying to lighten the mood and all"

" you lied to me." Adriana's voice squeaked clenching her fist. " why?" Lavagirl stuck her feet to the ground turning her head in half way facing Adriana. Giving her a sad look her hair flamed and flickered as she held back a groan.

" I'm sorry I lied, but for a good cause. There was a purpose for you being here I just can't tell you. If I do something terrible could happen to you and all of us. For now you just have to stay low and keep yourself under control" she rotated her head in a circle so it was matched her bodies direction.

" what's in the dream lair anyway" max asked.

"it's where all the dreams that fuel planet drool are stored, but their being destroyed"sharkboy explained. He turned the the tall mountain peek flashing red. Pointing towards it everyone looked in his direction narrowing their eyes from the brightness.

" how?".

" that's what we have to find out. Soon, even Sharkboy and I will cease to exist." Lavagirl said a hint of hope in her voice. Adriana forcfully dropped to the ground which caused Sharkboy turn to the side seeing another cuckoo clock coming.

" DUCK" he yelled as everyone else copied her actions. They all stood up looking around.

" WHY DO YOU EVEN HAVE SUCH THINGS IN YOUR DREAM JOURNAL?" Adriana yelled pointing to the clocks that floated around them.

" max where is your dream journal?" Sharkboy asked.

" great thinking sharky, we can read his dreams out loud and turn everything back to the way it was! I may even realize my true identity" Lavagirl smiling brightly.

" I left my journal on earth." Max interrupted.

" I saw it, last thing I remember you threw it at Linus then they came in" Adriana reminded. " I'm not so sure, but I think I saw someone pick it up. That or the wind swept it away" Sharkboy growled gritting his teeth. He clenched his fist as his eyes turned a dark brown. Swiftly Adriana stood in front of max holding her hands out in defense.

Backing up he gulped his eyes wide. He held his hands up in defense as the tension of the air filled them.

" why are you getting so mad at him? It's not his fault he threw away his book. He didn't know you two where Gonna smash through the wall and take him to a different planet without even asking him for his concern. Not everything must be his fault" Adriana yelled. His fist swiftly passed by her cheek as she flinched seeing metal flying everywhere. She gasped trembling as she fell to the floor.

" we really thought you where the answer max."

" don't listen to him, he's just upset that you didn't show up and make him king of the ocean with a fish army to back him up" Lavagirl protested.

" look whose talking!" He turned around. " you thought you'd fine a great use for your powers and heal the planet. Max thought his dream world would be a happy place and this girl right here-" he pointed his finger to Adriana" still doesn't know who the heck she is; And yet here we are tempting to tell her what a threat she could be" she slapped his hand out his face as he stared at her in shock.

" and who told you that?" she mocked. " oh let me guess your instincts".

" for a girl I just saved you should be more grateful"

" and for a guy near his creator and a girl who can burn him to flames you should be less annoying. Honestly your positivity needs a little more.... oh what's the word? Positivity"

" keep on talking and I'll shove you off this panel"

" keep talking and I'll shove a squid in your mouth"

" why aren't you stopping them?" Max whispered to Lavagirl.

" I've reached a point where I could care less" she said crossing her arms.

" you think this is some sort of fairy tail where we fight small animals and problems then all of a sudden hug it out and become friends in the end? This is your worst nightmare come true;There is no ponies and princesses and friendship is magic stuff, this is reality so f.y.i don't expect everything to go your way" sharkboy growled.

" look whose talking now! What happened to Mr.I-hope-Max-comes-here-and-makes-me-king-of-the-ocean?!"

" well then I guess we've all been duped, haven't we?!! Turning back around a light weight fell on him as the air pressure his his face. His eyes darted to the ground as he started falling only to realize their ' ride' had came to an end. Lavagirl who didn't bother with the two anymore crossed her arms feeling herself to start falling as well.

" that looks painful" Adriana hissed standing up and walking backwards from the fall. Max grabbed her arm dragging her forwards.

" it's better to get it over with then to keep running away from it"

" what makes you say that?"

" does it look like we have a choice?" Looking behind them a cuckoo clocked was about to prop their heads off as they ran forwards screaming.
