congrats, this is officially the last chapter of SLPD, thanks again for the 1k read. And also I notice a lot of people have been asking me who do I pair Adriana with? Max or sharkboy. well this chapter answers that question. Also I know the song is my little pony (so childish), but it contains slight spoilers for the future *wink*

Coldness touched her shoulders, the soft yet uncomfortable bedding under her left her limp. She knew she had to get up soon, she knew she needed at least one sighting of her placing to remember everything. Rather if the unreal non possible fight came to pass or if she had been taken to the nurse after the painful blow to the face. Yet a feeling of laziness overcame her body, groaning as she turned to her side.

"Hi"

She shot up, eyes wide in fear as she frantically looked around. There he sat, a sluggish look on his face as his chin rested on the backward seated chair. Swinging her feet across the bed a rush of bloodline filled her head before she could push herself up.

"Shh" He cooed, pressing the tip of his finger against her shoulder. Like a trance the small amount her pressure was enough to knock her weak body backwards against the bed. "Rest"

"What happened" She whimpered, every word dragging strength out her bones.

"You saved us" He said, a slight face of disappointment flashed on for a brief second. "You killed her, but you saved us"

She whimpered heavily, tears streaming down her eyes.

Out of fear he shifted his seating to the edge of the bed, "Whoa what's wrong?"

"Im sorry" She sobbed, staring at the sky in pain. "Im so sorry. I'm a monster" she continued to cry, her shoulder heaving with regret. The only comforting touch was his arms, fingers brasses tightly around her elbows almost in a forcing manner. She whimpers she rested her head on his shoulder, almost instantly regretting the pain that came with.

"Hey, you're not a monster. You saved us, just because you sacrificed someone you love doesn't make you a monster. It makes you a hero, willing to give up everything for everyone"

"You don't understand" she wailed, " I could of saved her, I could but I didn't. She just needed a family, someone to love her. Someone like me, and I didn't" he dragged his fingers in her hair, tugging it in a painful yet playing type of way. The force yanked her head back as a sudden look of confusion flashed on her face. He smiled cheekily, like a child. The certain type of reaction you wouldn't be expected from someone after the serious situation.

"You worry to much" he poked her nose as the tip turned red, "the important thing is that you're safe, that we're all safe and it's gonna stay that way" There she sat dully, completely confused with his reaction. suddenly she smiled, tenderness in her soul as more tears fell down her face.

"Gosh you're such an idiot" with a shove she fell into him crying dearly, "Why do you have to be such an idiot?"

"Cause it makes you smile" he sighed, "And it makes me smile too"

To be honest I'm a bit sad, but don't worry the book it's NOT over, I repeat the book is NOT over. The story yes, but the book no. Keep waiting for further updates and new releases to other sharkboy and lavagirl stories. Thanks for the support, sorry for the weird ending tho. I didn't know how I should end it, at one point I was ready to make the part where Ariana died the end and then move on. So I hope this corny yet warm ending makes you happy.
