So I was twelve and I knew there was something different about me all my life.
Like the fact that I had once stuck my hand on a red hot burner and it didnt even leave a red mark on my hand, or the fact that my mood seemed to halfway control the weather. Like if I got mad I could hear thunder rolling and see the streaks of lightning in the sky.
Or maybe it was the fact that I had woken up so many nights screaming in my sleep for my windows to start shattering.
The only thing that seemed to help is when my mother would come into the room and tell me fairytales, well they would probably be better described as nightmares, about Gods. It was...amazing to say the least. The only problem was she didnt tell them the same way most did. In her stories Zeus was the bad guy, hurting young girls, tormenting people. Abusing his powers.
And Kronus...well he had his fair share of bad deeds, but he made up for them, once by saving a girl's life when she tried to kill herself.
They made me feel like maybe it was okay to be different. That my strange...abilities were okay. That maybe in some ways it was okay to be the bad guy (or girl).
But I always knew i was different. I found out exaxtly how different the day that my mother was killed right in front of me. By what I could only describe as monsters.
We were sitting there and i was trying to get her to open up to me more about who my father was, where we came from, the usual. All she would tell me was that when it was time for me to know I would find out. Do you know how frustrating that is to hear? Especially for a twelve year old girl going through alot in her life already.
I rolled my eyes but agreed with what she said. She was a stubborn woman and if she didn't want to talk then she wouldn't.
Then it happened.
Some monstrous thing crashed through the living room window. Before I could do anything it ripped her away from me and snapped her neck. Then like a switch everything flipped. I felt what i can only describe as fire running through my veins and I screamed louder than I have in my entire life. The monster dropped down and started making an awful noise. There was black blood oozing from his ears and it looked as if his blood was boiling from the inside out. In a matter of seconds he exploaded all over the room, including me. I dropped to my knees feeling exhausted and drug myself to my mothers lifeless form. I felt the tears running down my face then and felt what i guess was glass of shards in my cheek. I didn't care. The only person in the world that loves me and ever cared about me was laying dead in my arms. I was broken.
Then everything got blurry.
