Blackness. Darkness filled my mind. The blank realm I existed in stretched and stretched. Darkness forever.
And then I saw the light, the cliché light. The light spoke to me. A familiar voice echoed in my ear.
"Breathe, Ingrid," it whispered.
Suddenly my mind transported to somewhere new.
Palm trees filled my surroundings and I felt the sun beating down on me. A cool breeze blew and my stray hairs blew around my head. I recognized where I was. This was where my grandfather used to live.
I recognized the walkway in front of me. I followed the walkway and my surroundings changed.
Everything got lighter; I became emerged in white light.
Then my groggy eyes opened and I realized I was lying on the cool cement of the utility floor with one thing on my mind.
Jacksonville.
