" Y/N! Hurry, we are about to leave." Gregory yelled to you from outside your room. The sound of heavy, clanking and stomping boots rolling down the corridor ushered you to hasten the changing process. You could hear Gregory's worried whimpers, making you sweat. Being the only woman in your quadrant, you were self conscious and preferred changing in private. But you just couldn't fit yourself into the new uniform for some reason.
"Um, a little help please?" You asked, nervous. But you knew that sacrificing having him see you almost naked would be worth it, because today was an important day and you could not afford to dilly dally any longer. Today was the day you would leave your training and join the revolution in America. You had been waiting for this your whole life, to fight alongside George Washington and his troops.
" Are you sure?" Gregory asked.
"Yes! Just hurry, now!" You reassured him. You were pretty comfortable with Greg and you trusted him. This honestly made it a bit harder to leave him. You two would be placed in separate quadrants. Gregory burst in the door and grabbed your arm and forced it into it's sleeve. "Jeez, you're acting like my father." You joked. He just rolled his eyes.
"Well if we don't wanna be late, I kinda have to." He said, smirking a bit. You two had always looked after each other since you met the first day at training camp. You were both pretty weak, but you were able to help each other achieve greatness. Besides you accomplishments in class, you were still never top notch at being on time. Finally you got yourself into the uniform and began buttoning on your jacket while Greg helped put on your boots.
"Thanks man!" You said gratefully. You snatched your bag off the floor before racing out the door, a panting Gregory behind you.
Finally you made your way to the rest of the group. The others laughed you twos tardiness playfully, but you just jokingly punched them in return. The others in your group had surprisingly accepted you quickly even though you were a girl. But You guess they saw your potential.

You hugged Gregory tightly as well as a few other friends, trying not to shed any tears as they boarded their own carriages. " Promise you'll write?" Gregory asked you before he boarded his own. You nodded, knowing that if you tried to speak you'd immediately break down into tears. You both shared a nod and a wave before retreating to your wagons. You captured one last glance at the camp as the horses at the front gained speed pulling you along the bumpy wet roads.

Hey guys!!! I'm so excited to be writing this story! Btw Gregory IS a made up character.
