The Truth Comes Out

*One Week Later*

"Well Christmas break came and went," I sighed. "And now we're back at school."

Audrey shuttered. "Tell me about it."

"How are things with you and Harry?"

Audrey smiled tensely. "Fine. He's been calling me and we've FaceTimed a couple times. And he apologized for how he acted and said you talked some sense into him."

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Really?"

"Yeah," Audrey chuckled. "You're really good at persuasion."

The bell rang, and as Audrey walked off, I smirked.

"You can only fool me once, Audrey," I mumbled as I walked off to my first period class.

At lunch, Niall invited me to sit with him and some of his friends. Since I'd never met them before, I was kind of nervous.

"Don't worry," Niall said soothingly as we walked over. "You're gonna love them!"

Turns out, he was right. Marcus, Jim, Joe, and Caspar instantly welcomed me and acted like we'd been friends since Primary school!

"Niall talks about you a lot," Jim said with a small smirk.

"Yeah!" Joe piped up. "Sometimes, I get annoyed!"

Caspar jabbed Joe in the ribs and gave me a cheeky grin. "In the best way."

Niall's face was beet red, which made me laugh. "Yeah. He annoys me too," I said playfully as I scooted closer to him.

Suddenly, Niall looked concerned. "Really?"

I brushed noses with him and blocked out the excessive cat-calls from his friends and whispered, "in the best way."

"Pep!" An oh-so-familiar voice shoved Niall away and made me stare into Blair's hazel eyes.

"Blair!" I said while tucking a piece of hair away. "Hi!"

"Hey!" She said with a smile. "We need to talk."

"Okay," I said; flustered. This was the second time she'd interrupted Niall and I. I shot Niall a glance before Blair yanked me out of the cafeteria.

*Blair's POV*

While Audrey blabbed on and on about something boring, I glared at Pepper and Niall's backs. They were sitting with some jerks instead of us!

"I'm telling you, Audrey," I interrupted. "Niall is taking Pepper away from us!"

Audrey looked at them, back at me, and then she gave me an uncertain smile. "You know, maybe you're just overreacting. I mean, if Liam lived here, you'd spend a lot of time with him too!"

I groaned. "Yeah, but Niall physically took her away! She could be living with me right now, but NO. Niall had to steal her!"

"Look-" Audrey began.

"No." I stood up. By now, Pepper and Niall were practically nose to nose, smirking at each other, probably just to get attention.

Before they could kiss in front of the school, I moved Niall out of the way and looked deep into Pepper's eyes.

"Pep!" I blurted out.

Pepper seemed flabbergasted. She answered with a shocked: "Blair! Hi!"

I smiled to show I wasn't angry. "Hey! We need to talk."

Pepper seemed worried, but she said "Okay". I grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the cafeteria. Thoughts kept rushing through my head.

What am I going to tell her? There's gotta be a good excuse for this!

*Pepper's POV*

"What is it, Blair?"

Because if you didn't know, this was the second time you interrupted me and Niall.

Blair looked concerned. "I feel bad about this. I really do."

"What? What do you feel bad about?"

Blair looked at me somberly. "I have bad news."

My heart started racing. "What happened?"

She looked down at the ground, bit her lip, then looked back at me. She sighed and then whispered quietly enough for me to hear.

"Niall's been cheating on you."
