Alec Lightwood x reader 2 pt. 1

"Hey y/n, wait up," Simon calls, running up beside me.

"Hey Simon," I reply.

"Where are you going it's nearly dawn?" he says with concern.

"I'm going to the institute, I can keep out of the sun there," I reply. Being older than Simon I knew more about surviving as a vampire but that didn't stop him from pestering me with his doubts about my choices.

"Ok. call me when you're done making out with Alec, eh?" he says with a smile and begins to walk away.

"Hey!  Alec and I are not a 'thing'" I shout and head for the door of Hotel Dumort. Behind me I hear him shout with a laugh;

"Sure, sure, you keep telling yourself that," and I will do just that, Alec doesn't like me and for all, he knows I don't like him either. At least I hope so.

(time skip to the Institute)

"Hey, didn't expect to see you here at this kind of day," Alec says as he walks into the training room where I'm practising with a bamboo stick.

"Yeah well I would rather be here than in that musty old place," I reply as I cut the air with my stick.

"Fair," he agrees "need a training partner?"

"Sure," I reply throwing him a stick.

"Although don't complain when I kick your ass," he laughs.

"Hmmm, sure it's not going to be the other way around?" I coax, slashing my stick in his direction. he blocks with his stick and lunges towards me, I move to the side and stick my foot out and he trips landing flat on his face. "come on, your making this too easy," 

"Sorry I wasn't focused, let's go again," He says as he gets back up.

"Ok, come at me lightwood," I laugh and he lunges at me slashing his stick at me, my stick connects with his and he steps back and I use this as an opportunity, so I run at him, using his slightly bent knee as a step, I jump over him and hit him from behind and he falls backwards landing right on top of me.

"I think I win," he says flipping over so he is facing me his face only inches away from my own.

"Do you now?" I laugh pressing my finger against his nose pushing him off me. I feel myself blushing so I get to my feet. "better run," I say and head for the front door of the Institute. I swing open the door and scream, I'm greeted with the hot sun frying my skin, I fall to my knees crying in agony.

I reach for the door to shut it but I'm too weak to move, I can hear Alec yelling behind me, he runs to the door and slams it shut picking me up off the ground and carrying me to one of the spare bedrooms.

once he feeds me blood and I finish healing, I go to apologise but he cuts me off.

"WHAT ON EARTH WERE YOU THINKING OR WERE YOU EVEN THINKING AT ALL," he screams at me.

"I wasn't but I would have been fine, and I am fine no drama,"

"No drama! you almost died Y/n that's not fine, you are always so reckless one day you'll get yourself killed and I won't be there to save you," he says and in the heat of the moment slaps me.

"Wait Y/n I'm sorry... I didn't mean to..." he says trying to apologise.

"Save it," I say running out of the room. the first room I find is the library I run in slamming the door behind me, I fall against the door and pull my knees up against my chest tears begin to fall from my face. I guess he really doesn't care, he must hate me now.

How could I have been so stupid as to think he may have actually liked me.
