"Minghao, it's because.."

- Nobody

"It's because.. I love you. Understand that. You're so beautiful, and if you don't see that, take a closer look. Minghao, you are my everything, and I want you to understand that." Soonyoung took Minghao's hand into his own, lacing their fingers.

"I- Soonyoung.. I really don't know what to say.." Minghao stared at him, shock spread across his face with a tint of a slight blush.

"Then, don't say anything."

Minghao looked down, he wasn't sure what to do in these situations. He was shocked, surprised, and very flustered.

His heart rate quickened, and his face heated. He was confused, if anything.
Confusion, shock, and other emotions showed on his face.

"Minghao," Soonyoung took the boys chin between his thumb and pointer finger, making the younger boy look up at him. "I love you. And in the six years you've been with me, I've realized that you are the most precious human that I have ever laid my eyes on. You are beautiful, and you should never let anyone tear you down."

"Soonyoung.." It was a whisper, barely audible, just audible enough for Soonyoung to hear.

"You truly are an amazing person, and... I love you, too." The pair smiled at each other.

"Do you want some food? I'm gonna order some take out." Soonyoung asked.

Minghao nodded, laughing at how quick his personality had changed. "Get Chinese take out please."

Soonyoung nodded, and began to order the food.

*

The food was soon to come, and the two began eating.

"I haven't had Chinese food in forever.." Minghao sighed as he sat on the floor next to Soonyoung.

"Do you miss anyone?" Soonyoung asked.

"What?" Minghao replied, a mouth full of food.

"Back in China, do you miss anyone?"

"Oh.. Uh, yeah. I do.." Minghao sighed, just thinking about his best friend from China.

"Who?"

"His name was Jun. He was my best friend.. We had so many good memories together... He gave me a friendship bracelet, and told me to never take it off.. And I didn't.. We promised each other we would wear them until we died, and now that promise means so much more to me than it did before." The boy had tears streaming down his face as he finished. He hadn't bothered to wipe them, the memories with Jun all came back at once, and he was overwhelmed.

"What happened?" Soonyoung asked, carefully.

"He.. For the first few weeks I was here, he would call and text non-stop.. He'd ask how I was doing, how things were going... And we would talk about anything that came to mind... But then, he stopped calling.. He stopped messaging so often.. And it just stopped. And I thought that maybe he was just busy. But, after four weeks, his mother called me.. She was crying.. When I asked her what happened.. She cried harder. She told me he jumped from the bridge. It was our hideout. We'd go there when we didn't want to be bothered, or to just enjoy the nighttime. And he was there.. But his mom.. Didn't get there in time and he.. He jumped. She tried to save him, tell him not to.. He dropped a note.. It said that he wanted us to be happy.. That he wasn't.. And it was his time.."

Flashback

Minghao's phone rang, and he picked it up.

"Hello?"

"He's gone! Minghao he's gone!" A woman's voice sounded through the phone, and Minghao knew it was Jun's mother.

"Mrs. Wen, calm down please. What do you mean he's gone?"

"H- he's.. He.. Jun jumped.."

"He what?" Minghao didn't understand.

"He jumped, M- Minghao.. From th- the bridge.. He dropped a note... H- he wants us to be h- happy.. And it was his time... He wasn't happy..." Mrs. Wen cried into the phone.

At that moment, he regretted leaving China, he shouldn't have. He knew Jun wasn't happy, he knew that Jun must have thought he left because of him.

"It's because of me..." Minghao whispered. "He jumped because he thought I left because of him..." He began to laugh hysterically.

"It's all my fault. It's my fault that he jumped from the bridge." He said through his laughing.

He was hysterical. He didn't know what to do. His laughs turned to cries, and he wanted to go back.

He looked at the bracelet Jun gave him in fourth grade. The promise to never take the bracelet off, it meant so much more now than it did then.

"I'll never take this off. I promised you that, and I'm I'm going to keep that promise until I die." He looked up, into the sky. "See you soon, Jun."

End of flashback

"Minghao... Shh.. It's okay, don't cry... It's gonna be okay." Soonyoung whispered as he hugged the crying boy.

He rubbed comforting circles into the boys back, hoping to calm him down.

Minghao wiped his tears. "You must think I'm pathetic." He laughed at himself. He was pathetic, he knew it all to well.

"No, I don't think that you're  pathetic. You lost someone important in your life, anyone would cry if that happened." Soonyoung tried to sooth the boy of his irrational thoughts.

"Why?"

"'Why?' Because, everyone cries. It doesn't mean they're pathetic or worthless. It's a natural emotion reaction. Don't ever think that you are anything negative. You're perfect. Don't beat yourself up just because of something only you think."

"Soonyoung."

"Hmm?"

"I love you."

"I love you too."
