I awoke in a hospital bed with an unknown person sitting across from me. I began to freak out because I had no clue who this person was, then I recognized the red hair. It was my mom.
"Mom," I choked, my voice dry.
"I'm here baby," she cooed.
I lifted my arm which was lighter than I remembered and gasped.
I started crying.
"Everything will be ok, it's all going to be ok," my mom repeated. I knew by the sound of her voice this was not going to be ok.
My right hand was gone.
